James Franco has proven over the past few years he's far from just a pretty (OK, very pretty) face by starring in dramatic fare such as "Milk," and "Howl," but we think it's his comedic chops that put him a step above the rest. From his early roots on "Freaks and Geeks" to his Golden Globe nominated turn in the stoner comedy "Pineapple Express," James has made dopey so darn endearing. In the new screwball comedy "Date Night," it looks as though James is poised to have us rolling in the aisles yet again.
In our exclusive clip from the film, a tattooed, sleeveless Taste (James) and his girlfriend Whippit (Mila Kunis) are getting ready to make an escape from their apartment where a couple named Phil and Claire (Steve Carell and Tina Fey) whose date night has gone terribly awry, are seeking their help.
As the young pair get ready to make an escape from their apartment, a worried Whippit is comforted by Taste, who reassures her their apartment is not their home, but she, in fact, resides in his heart. James proceeds to reveal a tattoo of his girlfriend (a pretty accurate fake tattoo of Mila Kunis, if we may say so) on his chest and pounds on it, telling her, "This is your home!"
The two go on to have a smooch fest as a baffled (and slightly unnerved) Phil and Claire look on. Phil tries to get some answers pertaining to a certain Miletto, but the flighty Taste (we can't wait to find the origins of that name) takes off and tells Phil, "You two are far from home, aren't you?"
"Date Night", which also stars Mark Wahlberg and Leighton Meester, opens April 9.
