The trailer for Selena Gomez's first feature film hit the web a week and a half ago, and we were just as excited about our first look at "Ramona and Beezus" as she was. When MTV caught up with Selena at the Kids' Choice Awards, she shared exactly how she reacted to seeing the trailer for the first time.
"I cried and I jumped up and down," she admitted immediately. "And I told my mom, 'They said my name!'"
Apparently having her name in a trailer had always been a dream for the young Disney star. "Ever since I was a little kid, I've always loved the movie voice guy going, 'And Selena Gomez,'" she shared. "So I had a heart attack and I started crying. It was my first theatrical trailer."
The adaptation of the classic "Ramona" series by Beverly Clearly isn't only going to be a star vehicle for Selena's acting, but also an additional way to showcase her music. Her newest single, "Live Like There's No Tomorrow," debuted in the trailer for the film.
"'Live Like There's No Tomorrow' was actually going to be a song that I wanted to record and maybe possibly put on my second record," said Selena about the choice to match the song up with "Ramona and Beezus. "[But] t just fit perfectly with the whole vibe of the movie."
"Ramona and Beezus" hits theaters July 23, 2010.
