The "Glee" stars will soon be seen at the White House and on “Oprah,” but until then fans have a new Rolling Stone cover to hold them over.
The stars of what Rolling Stone refers to as the “hottest show” on television got wild on the cover and serious inside the magazine for a candid chat. Though the cast — Lea Michele especially — might look caught off guard, when the questions started rolling, they all were prepared to provide direct answers.
Twenty-three-year-old Lea (Rachel) began the racy convo by revealing details about her tattoos, and the controversy kept coming when Cory Monteith (Finn) explained his childhood arrests (yes, there’s more than one!). But fear not, Finn fans, because Cory is not broken by several minor episodes; he’s come to terms with the offenses, which thankfully he says “didn’t hurt people.” Later Dianna Argon (Quinn) explained what it was like to join the cast late.

The interview got even more personal when Chris Colfer (Kurt), 19, discussed his openly gay character in relationship to his real life self. Chris admitted that he channels old personal grudges to deliver a performance, and while letting go of trauma is good for most his approach insists otherwise. “You know that forget-and-forgive bulls--t? No, no, no, no, not for me,” he clarifies. “You take that grudge and let that grudge fester, and then you use it.”
Even show creator Ryan Murphy — who’s also the mastermind behind “Nip/Tuck” — got in on the action. Explaining what "Glee" is really about, Ryan told RS, “It’s about there being great joy to being different, and great pain.” Ryan should certainly be pleased that America can’t wait for the joy and pain to keep coming!
What do you think about the new cover, and is anyone else surprised by the darkness that lies beneath "Glee’s" sunny exterior?
