James Franco has proven over the past few years he's far from just a pretty (OK, very pretty) face by starring in dramatic fare such as "Milk," and "Howl," but we think it's his comedic chops that put him a step above the rest. From his early roots on "Freaks and Geeks" to his Golden Globe nominated turn in the stoner comedy "Pineapple Express," James has made dopey so darn endearing. In the new screwball comedy "Date Night," it looks as though James is poised to have us rolling in the aisles yet again.
In our exclusive clip from the film, a tattooed, sleeveless Taste (James) and his girlfriend Whippit (Mila Kunis) are getting ready to make an escape from their apartment where a couple named Phil and Claire (Steve Carell and Tina Fey) whose date night has gone terribly awry, are seeking their help.

Oscar-nominated British ingénue Carey Mulligan ("An Education") has been somewhat confirmed for the iconic role of Eliza Doolittle in a new film version of “My Fair Lady,” according to BBC News (via The Auteur Daily).
The latest word on the casting came straight from the mouth of actress Emma Thompson, who scripted the remake, on the red carpet for last night’s UK premiere of the family film sequel “Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang.” “I think Cary is set to play it, yes,” Thompson told BBC 5.

In the immortal words of the kids of California: This show is totally "dunzo." MTV announced yesterday that the sixth season of "The Hills," which premieres on April 27, will be its last.
Attributing his reasoning to wanting to go out on "a high note," Tony DiSanto, president of programming at MTV, said, "We are lucky and honored to have worked with this cast and tell their stories for this long, and we are grateful to the many dedicated fans who have stuck with us over the years."

Yesterday, in "Things We Can't Quite Believe," comes word that adorable poptart Justin Bieber had reportedly to have unleashed his inner gossip boy during an interview with an English newspaper — and his target was none other than superdiva Mariah Carey. Justin supposedly complained about Mimi's latest work, saying, "I don't love her new music, it's not the same... It's like Michael Jordan coming back out to play in the NBA. She is past her best." OH NO HE DIDN'T.
Well, actually, he may not have — seeing as that bit of the interview has disappeared with no explanation from the original article, now everything is hearsay. But if it is true, we'd like to see the Beebs and Miss Carey step out from behind the microphone and settle this grudge the old-fashioned way...

Fans of "Lost" not only got six extra minutes of the show last night, but questions were actually answered, especially those pertaining to the mysterious Richard Alpert (played by Nestor Carbonell, pictured). Actor Rainn Wilson declared his undying love for the show and Richard/Ricardo, tweeting, "Tonight's episode was one of TV's greatest of all time. I'm gay for the eternal Richard Alpert. There I said it." Rocker Mark Hoppus agreed, posting, "Son of a CRAP that was a great episode of LOST!!!" But Matthew Perry still had some lingering questions, "Can Jacob be trusted? What the hell is happening??? And more importantly....what are we all going to do when this is over?"
Perhaps some "Lost"-less fans will tune in for Nikki Blonsky's upcoming show about weight-loss camp for ABC Family called "Huge" The "Hairspray" star certainly seemed excited as she tweeted, "YES Its TRUE I am playing the role of WILL in the new ABC Family series HUGE another dream come true 4 me."

Not that you won't be paying extra attention already after six "Vampire Diaries"-less weeks, but when "VD" finally comes back on Thursday night (THANK GOODNESS!!), you'll have to pay extra attention so you don't miss the show's latest stunt.
The CW has confirmed to us that Elena (Nina Dobrev) will dial a real, live phone number during the show (none of that 555-5555 B.S.) that you can call to get spoilers about upcoming episodes. You can also leave messages, though we're not exactly sure who's going to listen to them.

It seems like Fox answered your prayers for more of season one, Gleeks! So, it's only fitting that the latest teaser promo (see it on YouTube) for the April 13th return of "Glee" would feature Lea Michele singing Madonna's "Like a Prayer." Lea, as always, sounds downright amazing (we can't wait to hear how the rest of the all-Madonna episode turns out), but it's the snippets from the show that really gave us goosebumps!
We first get a glimpse at some action (yay!) on the couch between Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) and Emma Pillsbury (Jayma Mays), though she admittedly feels weird being "in the place you made a fake baby" with his estranged-wife Terri (Jessalyn Gilsig, who is nowhere to be seen, but we know for fact it's not the last we've seen of her).

Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with staff members. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.
Where’s the glee? Taylor Swift and (possible new beau?) Cory Monteith hugged it out last night, mixing rounds of bowling with a series of intimate moments at Pinz in Studio City. Did the "Glee" star — and obvious master of the “It’ll be OK” face — knock down too many pins for Taylor and BFF Selena Gomez (yup, she was there too!) to keep up? If Taylor really does need this hug as much as it looks like she does, she can always channel the emotions into her third CD — word is that the first single is planned for late summer or early fall.
To see Cory and Taylor's intimate moment up close click on the phone above. After the jump, check out which pop star we got chilling in NYC.
