In the last installment of the "High School Musical" franchise, 2008's "High School Musical 3: Senior Year," Sharpay Evans (Ashley Tisdale), the girl everyone loved to hate, sang about wanting it all: "Don’t you see that bigger is better, and better is bigger, a little bit is never enough…I want it all…the fame and the fortune and more…” Well Sharpay, it seems as though it has come time for your “star on the door…”
Although we already said our goodbyes to the original "HSM" stars, fear not devoted fans because it has been confirmed that Ashley will star in her own spin-off movie.
“Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventures,” a Disney Channel Original Movie is scheduled to premiere in 2011 and will start shooting this summer. According to a release, the plot involves Sharpay and her dog, Boi, heading to New York City after a Broadway scout offers her the dream of a lifetime: a starring role! Only the role, as it turns out, is for Boi. "Putting her disappointment aside," continues the release, "she sets out to make Boi the most fabulous canine star to hit the stage, with the hope that his fame will become her fame." There is no word however on whether or not Sharpay will have her other wingman — er, brother, Ryan (Lucas Grabeel) — by her side.
The 24-year-old actress is not only starring in the upcoming film, but she will also take on the role of executive producer.
So are you excited to see Sharpay back in action? What kind of adventures do you think she will run into in Manhattan?
