Amanda Seyfried is continuing her momentous year with an unconventional (but pretty awesome) promotion for her May 14th flick, “Letters to Juliet.” She's serious about the premise for the movie — about a girl who reunites destined lovers — so serious, in fact, that she’s willing to put real life romance to the test! Amanda will read YOUR love letters, and all you have to do is send them in.
Are you dying for Amanda’s advice on your own long-lost love? Do you need help confessing feelings to a crush? Or perhaps you believe that Amanda is your soulmate, and you’ve been waiting for years for the chance to tell her? Well, here it is folks. Get ready for your dreams of romance to come true.
Instructions on sending your "letter" are after the jump!
Here's how to enter:
1. Record a video on YouTube or translate your thoughts into an actual written letter.
2. Head over to Moviefone's website.
3. Post the the URL to your YouTube video or your actual letter (yes, word for word!) in the comments section on Moviefone's designated page.
4. Take note of the deadline: April 23!
5. Check back when it gets closer to the "Letters to Juliet" release (May 14) because Amanda will record video replies to select letters she's received.
So why should Amanda be considered the next big love guru? Well, in the movie, which is set in Verona, Italy (home of star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet), her character responds to a 50-year-old letter left for "Juliet" — yes there is an actual area where people legitimately write to the fictional figure asking her for love advice — encouraging its author, Claire (Vanessa Redgrave), to finally find her true love.
So if Amanda’s an effective matchmaker in “Letters to Juliet,” chances are she’s equally valuable in real life.
What do you think about the promo for “Letters to Juliet” and have you started making your video?
