First, there were the Italian Gleeks who organized a pre-Christmas flash mob at a shopping mall in Rome. Then there was that sumo wrestler video to promotethe arrival of "Glee" in Japan. Now stateside "Glee" fans will have their very own sure-to-be viral phenomenon. One Degree Events and some intrepid Gleeks from Seattle have organized a flash mob for Saturday, so Pacific Northwest folks can get their seemingly spontaneous groove on in public to a medley of four New Directions hits: "Dont Stop Believin'," "Proud Mary," "Gold Digger" and Somebody to Love.
If you're a Washingtonian, it's not too late to join! There's a rehearsal Friday night and one again Saturday morning before the three-location mob takes place (they won't release exact details on where until Saturday), and helpful online instructional and rehearsal videos are available (here's instructional video 1, then video 2 and finally a look at a rehearsal) so you can teach yourself the choreography in a glee club crash course. If dancing isn't really your jam, it's OK. The organizers say they purposefully designed the choreography so people of all ages and abilities can participate.
But wait! There's more if you miss Saturday's mobs (which will take place at as-yet undisclosed locations), there will be an encore at the Seattle Pride parade in late June. And thanks to the magic of YouTube, we'll all be able to view videos of the event afterward.

Will you participate in the Glee flash mob? Is it something you'd try to organize in your city? Or do you think it's something that's already been done?
