When you have a film with a title like "Kick-Ass," you better make sure your film actually kicks ass. Fortunately, this little MTV blogger can tell you first hand that the movie most certainly follows through on its title, though you might be surprised to find that most of the ass kicking comes from 13-year-old Chloe Moretz. You know her as the little sister from "(500) Days of Summer," and you've probably heard she is starring in both Martin Scorcese's 3-D adaptation of "The Inventions of Hugo Cabaret" as well as the American remake of "Let The Right One In." Her performance even got Eli Roth to toss out the first Oscar-talk for her serious acting — and fighting — skills.
In honor of our current Girl Crush's badassery, check out our list of five other kick-ass females after the jump.

The Bride: "Kill Bill"
If we're talking about some of the badass ladies in Hollywood, we've got to talk about Uma Thurman's character The Bride in Quentin Tarantino's "Kill Bill" films. Like Chloe's Hit Girl, The Bride was trained in martial arts by a master and uses those skills to seek revenge on those who totally screwed her over. There's no match for the Black Mamba's relentless streak of vengeance, and even telling her tale in a nonlinear fashion doesn't change the fact that she manages to kill every S.O.B. in her path -- yes, even Bill.

Samara: "The Ring"
That girl with the creepy black hair who climbs out of a TV? you may ask yourself about our second choice. What did she do that was so badass? She kills everybody, that's what! Samara, the brutally murdered and pissed off ghost psychic from "The Ring" (who, yes we know, is a remake of Sadako from the J-horror flick "Ringu"), doesn't have any concern about the people she kills, but only about sharing her story with the entire world. And, if you don't manage to make a copy of her video tape and show it to someone else within seven days, she's going to find you and she's going to kill you no matter who and where you are.

Trinity: "The Matrix"
"The Matrix" caused many a sci-fi geek to drool when it hit theaters in 2000, but nothing was more drool-worthy about that movie than a very sleek Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity. As Neo's hot mentor and love interest, Trinity could kick ass both in and out of the Matrix like nobody's business, all while wearing a skin-tight leather suit. We're assuming it was her ability to bend the Matrix that allowed her to pull of such impressive martial arts in that badass yet impractical outfit.

Lara Croft: "Tomb Raider"
Angelina Jolie has proven over the course of her career that she can pull off some pretty impressive physical stunts on screen, but nothing defined her more as an action heroine than when she played the title role in "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider." Based on the video game of the same name, Lara Croft is the hotter, female version of Indiana Jones who doesn't need his wimpy whip to stop her bad guys. Toss her some heavy artillery or just let her at 'em with her fists: Lara Croft will get the job done.

Ellen Ripley: "Alien"
It's no surprise that the role of Ellen Ripley in "Alien" was originally written for a man, considering how physically demanding the film is and how very unfeminine the character is. But Sigourney Weaver pulled it off to perfection, jump starting her career and proving she can give a good beating on screen. It's hard to find a woman more badass than Ripley, especially considering she manages to kick some serious alien ass for the good part of two centuries, and manages to live for more than 700 years.
Who are your favorite badass ladies in film? Are you excited to see Chloe Moretz kick some tail in "Kick-Ass"?
