Happy Earth Day! We Honor The Five Hottest Green Celebrities

If you've ever spent a week in moral agony 'cause you accidentally tossed a recyclable bottle in the trash bin, you knew this day would come.

Get down on your knees, swear before Mother Nature that your next car will totally be a Prius, and then get busy planting a tree or two... because it's Earth Day! All over the country and around the globe, citizens of the world are carbon-cutting and community-building in celebration of all things environmental. And here at Hollywood Crush, in honor of today's worldwide greening, we've put together a top five list of hot environmentally-minded celebrities. They're rich, they're famous, they're using their powers for the preservation and protection of all things planetary... and they can come sort our recyclables anytime, if you know what we're sayin'.

1. HAYDEN PANETTIERE

Save the cheerleader, and Hayden will save the world — that's how the saying went, right? The gorgeous star of "Heroes" has spent the past year working with the Whaleman Foundation to protest the killing of dolphins and whales in Japan and elsewhere, taking part in demonstrations and traveling to Washington D.C. in order to speak out for the preservation of marine life.

2. CHACE CRAWFORD

We already knew that this "Gossip Girl" hottie had a heart of gold when he lent his voice (and adorable face) to a PSA for helping the homeless. But Chace is also doing his part to create a sustainable future, appearing in a video sponsored by the Natural Resources Defense Council that urged lawmakers to pass a bill promoting clean energy and creating environmentally-friendly jobs.

3. AMERICA FERRERA

There's nothing unattractive about the "Ugly Betty" actress' dedication to everyday sustainability! America recently spoke out about how she keeps it green in NYC by composting, shopping for local and organic food, and riding her bike to cut down on carbon emissions. (We'll be hanging around the farmer's market, hoping to catch a glimpse of her.)

4. ROSARIO DAWSON

When she's not playing tough-as-nails characters in movies like "Sin City," "Death Proof" and "Killshot," Rosario shows a softness for saving the planet. The actress has visited the UN to speak out on how environmental preservation can help combat poverty, likes to wear clothing from eco-friendly designers, and took time out last month to plant trees and educate kids about earth-friendly living as a spokesperson for the Environmental Media Association.

5. LEONARDO DICAPRIO

Leo isn't just a versatile A-list actor with pretty pretty eyes — he's the grand high poo-bah of environmentally-minded celebs. The star of "Shutter Island" started his own foundation to help raise awareness of issues like climate change; sits on the board of multiple environmental organizations; and even wrote, produced, and narrated "The 11th Hour," a film about the dangers of global warming. Plus, his dedication to green living has inspired other celebrities to follow suit.
