Oprah Winfrey will debut the brand-spanking-new trailer for David Slade’s “Eclipse” this afternoon during her talk show, and all of Twilight Nation is on edge. So, what can fans expect to be in the new clip? Well, that seems limited only by your imagination.
Obviously, millions of die-hard fans have poured over every consonant, vowel and punctuation point in Stephenie Meyer’s “Eclipse” novel, so they are very aware of its story elements. However, the footage we’ve seen thus far has focused primarily on the love triangle of the series three big stars, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.
When the original trailer dropped in March, the fans were raving – but were equally aware of all the “Eclipse” moments that were missing. From Jasper’s backstory to the graduation and beloved tent scene, perhaps fans will finally glimpse such moments today.
Other major elements fans would love to see include Victoria’s army of newborn vampires, some of the classic Seth Clearwater moments, Edward in battle and so many others. As fans know, the Cullen clan – Rosalie, Jasper, Emmett, Alice and Carlisle in particular – all have significant moments to shine that have been largely ignored in the footage that fans have seen so far.
A great deal has been written about David Slade’s bloodthirsty directorial style, and how the “30 Days of Night” filmmaker will influence (or be influenced by) the third novel in the “Twilight” series. It could be very interesting to see how much testosterone and blood is on display in the trailer — and how Stephenie Meyer’s fans react.
Ultimately, everyone has desires of certain scenes they want to peek at. But at least this much is certain: Once Oprah gives the go-ahead, we can finally get a glimpse at something new.
