You know what? Waiting really does suck — especially when it involves watching an out-of-context scene of one of the greatest characters on "True Blood" getting shot in the chest!
HBO continues its "Waiting Sucks" video marketing campaign for the third season of "True Blood" this week with a tantalizing teaser that puts the fan favorite vampire Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård) directly in harm's way — or, more precisely, a bullet's way!
After the jump, check out all of the gory details on the latest "Waiting Sucks" teaser!
It's 4:35 in the afternoon, the fourth take of scene three. Crew members off camera are counting down from five, and what happens at zero is completely unimaginable — Eric Northman takes a bullet to the chest, sending his seemingly lifeless body backwards and onto the floor!
The only thing more shocking than the identity of the victim is the identity of the shooter — none other than Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) herself!
Before you break out the kleenex, it's wise to remember that bullets aren't exactly the best vampire repellant — not unless the bullet is filled with little wooden stakes or holy water, that is. On top of that, there's just no way that Eric is going to die, certainly not this early into the season.
Still, it's worth wondering why Sookie would want to shoot Eric in the first place. Is he trying to hurt her? Does she suspect his involvement in the abduction of Vampire Bill (Stephen Moyer)? We'll find out for sure when the show returns in June, but until then, feel free to speculate away!
