Yes, you read that right. Gwyneth Paltrow really did declare to us, "I'm the town slut!"
But maybe a little context would be helpful, no?
In 2008's "Iron Man," Gwyn's Pepper Potts and Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark shared a workplace flirtation that almost led to a pre-martini smooch at his fancy-schmancy birthday party. The lip-locking was not to be. Two years later — without giving away any spoilery plot details about "Iron Man 2"— Potts and an Iron Man-suited Stark finally pucker up. That kiss had been a long time coming, but (rest easy, my comic book-loving nerds!) it does not lead to any actual superhero bumping and grinding.
(Not that there wasn't any on-camera awkwardness. Gwyneth has admitted that both her husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, and RDJ's wife were on set during the day of the kiss.)
"I think in the films, they definitely have that soul mate-ish connection," she said. "But I think the fun of it is that they never really consummate and you always want them to."
So while Stark and Potts' tiniest of make-out sessions was a big step in their relationship, Gwyneth stressed, "That's not consummation in my book."
Oh, no? Guess some of us are more old school.
