Miley Cyrus is ready to hit radio once again with her new track, “Can’t Be Tamed,” so if you’re planning a listening party in the U.S.A., mark your calendars for THIS Friday, April 30! The world premiere for Miley’s new single — off the album of the same name — will occur on MySpace Music at 12pm EST/9am PST that day.
What’s the story behind “Can’t Be Tamed,” you wonder? The song is intended as an ode to staying true to oneself in a relationship and not changing for another person. Fans worldwide are bound to appreciate that Miley hasn’t changed, but that doesn’t mean her sound hasn’t.
Miley already told MTV News earlier this month that her new CD will make fans want to roll their windows down all summer; just don’t expect “Party in The U.S.A.” part deux because Miley went for an edgier “techno vibe” this time around. Though she reteamed with longtime Miley Cyrus collaborators Tim James & Antonina Armato (you might remember “See You Again”?), Can’t Be Tamed is an entirely different endeavor.
And while she wasn’t busy preparing her next musical project, Miley found time to partner with Youth Service America and started her own organization, Get Ur Good On (check it out at www.GETURGOODON.org), in an effort to spark community efforts from youth everywhere. Fans who are interested in getting their “good” on with Miley should head to the website and take advantage of the service-oriented online network.
Though you’ll be able to hear “Can’t Be Tamed” (the song) starting Friday, you won’t be able to buy it on iTunes until May 18. But that doesn’t mean you won’t be hearing it in that brief number of weeks, because the track arrives on radio May 3. The new album will be available as a standalone on June 22, as well as a combo CD/DVD concert release. So get ready, gear up and roll down your windows in May for Miley’s edgier music!
Are you looking forward to Miley’s new song and will you tune in on Friday? What do you think of the message behind “Can’t Be Tamed”?
