Yes, when it comes to "True Blood," waiting definitely does suck. But thankfully, HBO is looking to make that wait just a "drop" better.
The network has debuted an all new series of original online minisodes titled "A Drop of True Blood." Each miniature episode focuses on select series regulars such as Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), brother Jason (Ryan Kwanten), Vampire Bill (Stephen Moyer) and more in short vignettes designed to whet fans' appetites for the upcoming third season premiere.
"The minisodes provide a wonderful and rare opportunity to take a deeper look into Bon Temps and the characters that live in this colorful town," series creator Alan Ball said in a statement, with the very first minisode's colorful character of choice being none other than Eric Northman (Alexander SkarsgÄrd).
Making its debut on Yahoo, the minisode focuses on Eric and his vampire subordinate and business associate, Pam (Kristin Bauer), as they put on their Simon Cowell and Kara DioGuardi hats for a round of talent auditions seeking a new dancer at Fangtasia. Talent proves just as difficult to find in the world of "True Blood" as it is on "American Idol," however, leading to some cruel (and hilarious) one-liners from Eric.
"Thank you, but we're look for something a little less ridiculous," he tells one hyperactive hopeful. After she says that she's willing to "tone it down," Eric coldly replies: "I'd rather see you turn it off."
But it isn't an entirely talentless affair, as the final woman to enter Fangtasia is Yvetta (Natasha Alam), the previously announced new love interest for Eric. The Swedish vampire is clearly taken with Yvetta as he sends a begrudging Pam away.
"I've adapted to many styles," Yvetta seductively tells Eric once Pam has left. "Which would you like me to show you?"
"Everything you've got," he grins in response.
