With all of the vampires, werewolves and mind-readers in the mix, sometimes it's easy to forget about one of the other great supernatural species on "True Blood" — the shapeshifters. Of course, it doesn't help that shapeshifters, by their very definition, can shape-shift into just about anything that they want to become in the animal kingdom.
Over the years, we've seen benevolent bartender Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell) transform into a great many creatures from adorable dogs to buzzing bugs, and from the looks of the latest poster for the third season of "True Blood," we're about to see a whole new batch of shape-shifting iterations!

The latest poster for the third season of "True Blood" debuted online yesterday, depicting a hilarious riff on the concept of shape-shifters. A group of flamingos are gathered around a grassy area minding their own business, but a conspicuous sign points out something you wouldn't otherwise notice — these aren't flamingos, but shapeshifters!

When you're done laughing — don't worry, it might take you a few minutes — it's worth taking some time to ponder the implication of multiple shapeshifters on the upcoming season of "True Blood." We already know that Sam is going to have something of a family reunion in the new batch of episodes, including a long overdue meet-up with his brother Tommy Mickens (Marshall Allman). Beyond Tommy, how many more shapeshifters are we bound to see? And more importantly, how will we even know that we're looking at a shapeshifter?
