Last time I spoke with Emily Blunt, I was forced into the role of reluctant gossip columnist to plumb for juicy deets about how fiancé John Krasinski popped the question last summer. I'm not so sure I aced the gig. She went on at length about how "angels [were] showering us with rainbow drops" during the engagement and then I openly wondered if, maybe just maybe, the proposal was just a clever marketing ploy to promote the wedding episode of John's "Office."
Determined to do a better job the next time, I hopped on the phone with Emily last week to chat about her upcoming thriller, "The Adjustment Bureau." She was on to me from the start! But lovely lady that she is, the 27-year-old actress laughed and joked along with me about tying the knot, bridezillas and the, um, less than reliable World Wide Web.
MTV: Last time we talked, you told me all about your engagement. Now you know I have to ask—
Emily: When am I getting married?
MTV: No! That's not where I'm going! We know the nuptials are in the works.
Emily: The Internet knows that! But I don't know if the Internet knows all that much about anything.
MTV: When has the Internet ever been wrong about anything?
Emily: Oh yeah...
MTV: I was going to say we spoke with Katy Perry a while back and she said Russell Brand has turned into a total bridezilla. So how is John handling the run-up to the wedding? Is he cool, calm and collected or a bridezilla in his own right?
Emily: That is so funny that she described him that way! No one is stomping on my veil yet, so we're all right. We're good.
MTV: That would be bad if he were stomping on yours.
Emily: Oh goodness!
MTV: So now you'll tell me when the wedding is gonna happen...
Emily: Get ready. Do you have a pen and paper handy? It's coming. I will never, ever tell you!
MTV: We hear the wedding is "imminent"...
Emily: Who's saying that? And what source?
Emily: The Internet doesn't need sources!
Emily: It makes me laugh. The Internet knows nothing!
MTV: Do you get calls from your friends that are like, "How dare you not invite me to the wedding?"
Emily: Friends are like, "Apparently, this is happening!" I'm like, "Cool!"
MTV: You're like, "Cool, tell me when, I should probably plan ahead."
Emily: "Tell me when, I should probably be on top of this."
