As "Sex and the City 2" comes ever closer (28 days and counting!), we are trying to divert our attention from impatiently ticking off the time to distracting ourselves with other Carrie-related products. First there was "The Carrie Diaries," and now we have an exclusive first look at the upcoming book "Sex and the City 2: The Movies. The Fashion. The Adventure."
The 176-page movie companion isn't due out for another two weeks, but we got a look at a couple of pages as a sneak peek. The first two feature a statement both from leading lady Sarah Jessica Parker and writer/director Michael Patrick King, in front of a photo of them on set.
"It seems our ['SATC'] adventures never end," SJP writes, "but I never imagined this one would take us so very far away from New York City. I was so glad it did, however, because after what proved to be an exotic, colorful, inspiring, difficult, incredible, unimaginable, and memorable seven weeks in Morocco, we got to come home."

She adds, "We leave 'Sex and the City 2' with memories of reuniting on fabled Fifth Avenue in New York City, riding camels, climbing the dunes of the Sahara, and navigating through the tiny corridors of the main souk in Marrakech But mostly and most often, we're endlessly reminded of how lucky we were to be working together, and how fortunate we were to be having this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. And to enjoy and savor every single waking moment. It was a unique and glorious journey, and I do so hope the experiences of seeing the movie and browsing these pages allows you the same. Because, as always, we did it for you."
Michael offers similar sentiments, adding that in lieu of the economic downturn he thought, "perhaps like the filmmakers during the Great Depression of the '30s did — that might be in order for the sequel was a big, fun, decadent vacation for the girls on-screen as well as for the girls in the audience," and that was what helped him pick out the locations of Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

His writing also lets it leak that the opening scene from the film spoiler is going to be an 80s flashback, which leads right into the next two pages we have to reveal to you: a breakdown of Carrie's outfit in the '80s flashback. The different articles of clothing (which "took about three fittings" to get right) — like a Laura Ashley dress, Bestey Johnson corset and Brian Atwood white pumps — are accompanied by quotes from SJP about them.
The book will be released on May 14, and runs at $20.
Do these sneak peeks at the book whet your appetite for "SATC 2"? Are you planning on buying it when it hits stores?
