When he's not busy playing the scheming-yet-smoldering vampire Eric Northman on "True Blood," Swedish heartthrob Alexander Skarsgard is sinking his teeth into other projects that are not quite as mystical as his HBO series, but are just as perplexing. Take for example, "Metropia" — the statuesque actor (believe me — he is tall!) lent his voice to this grim animated tale, and when we caught up with him this past weekend at the Tribeca Film Festival, we were eager to find out what drew him to the part.
"Tarik [Saleh, the director] is an old friend of mine, he told me about the idea way before there was a script," Alex recalled to Hollywood Crush. "I was just fascinated. It's a very interesting story. It's kind of a dark, bleak dystopian story."
This weekend the sad news that rocker and reality star Bret Michaels suffered a possibly fatal brain hemorrhage shocked the entertainment industry. Tweeting celebs left their well wishes for the "Celebrity Apprentice" on the social networking site, including Ellen DeGeneres, who wrote, "Sending my love to Bret Michaels. We're all pulling for you." Fellow rocker, Limp Bizkit front man Fred Durst also sent his best along to the Poison singer, posting, "My prayers and blessings are out to you Bret Michaels."
On the happier side of the Twitterverse, Channing Tatum, turned 30 today and his wife, Jenna Dewan, posted, "Happy birthday to my love @channingtatum! So happy u were born!" Author Nicholas Sparks, who penned the book "Dear John," wrote to the actor via Twitter, "Happy Birthday, Channing! The star of Dear John turns 30 today." Meanwhile, the birthday boy himself tweeted to well-wishers, "Thanks 2 all the fans who submitted birthday messages!"

If you've ever read a post on Hollywood Crush than you know that we're big fans of both "Twilight" and "Harry Potter," so we figured we'd do our part to help in the wedding-planning process. We have watched "The Wedding Planner" on numerous occasions, after all, so consider us certified experts.
So now that we have all felt Madonna’s power, “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy plans to hit us baby one more time — but with a different blonde headed pop-star in mind. After solely dedicating an episode of “Glee” to perhaps the biggest pop-diva on the planet, the show plans to pay homage to the original teen-idol herself, Britney Spears.
“I’m interested in the Britney Spears idea. I’ve always loved her,” Ryan told EW.com, “I’m entertaining it. I think young kids would like that.” Ryan’s comments came to surface following Britney’s manager, Adam Leber’s, mention about the idea via Twitter and lets not forget about Hollywood Crush’s wise words and Photoshop skills for that matter…
Is there any better way to celebrate the release of Jake Gyllenhaal’s “Prince of Persia” than with a recreation of the film’s trailer… in LEGOS?!? The answer to this question was proven this morning to be absolutely not. Well, I shouldn’t really say this morning, because it took MTV News' very own Brian Jacks three weeks to recreate the action-packed trailer. And I even got to build some of the Legos myself, which was the highlight of my career, but nonetheless: it’s at least as good as the original.
So if you’ve ever pondered what it would be like to see Jake act in pure Lego form — and don’t try to tell me you haven’t — stop wondering. Watch this clip of Lego dramatic genius now. It will take hold of you, thrill you, pluck the strings of your heart, and you won’t find it anywhere else! The cinematography is excellent; the scenery is breathtaking and the action is first rate. All of a sudden, I want to watch the entire film like this.
What do you think of our version of the "Prince of Persia" trailer? Are you going to see the real film?
Billy Baldwin wasn't a closet "Gossip Girl" fan before he was offered a role on the CW show last season. But after the producers sent him some episodes to watch, he told Hollywood Crush last week that he and his wife "got totally sucked in, totally hooked."
The veteran actor starts his three-episode arc on the show tonight as William van der Woodsen, Serena's (Blake Lively) long-lost father. We haven't learned too much about the mysterious van der Woodsen patriarch as of yet, but Billy gave Hollywood Crush a few details about his character.
"He's a highly cultured, sophisticated, well-educated man," Billy said. "He was raised in a world of privilege on the Upper East Side. He's a surgeon — he's been to medical school. He's traveled all over the world and lived extensively in Europe."
Every day a multitude of stars wander through the halls of MTV News to talk about their latest projects and goof around with staff members. But sometimes we catch stars elsewhere, and that's why we put together Spotted!, a daily compendium of stars in the wild.
“Letters to Juliet” star Amanda Seyfried and boyfriend Dominic Cooper celebrated the film’s Tribeca premiere at NYC’s La Bottega yesterday. You might recognize Dominic from another Amanda Seyfried flick — yup, two years after the pair hit it off on the “Mamma Mia” set they still can’t get enough of each other! The dancing queens spent much of the night chatting it up with Gary Winick — director of “Letters to Juliet” — and other stars of the Verona-based film including Christopher Egan. All signs point to one successful after party…

You know what? Waiting really does suck — especially when it involves watching an out-of-context scene of one of the greatest characters on "True Blood" getting shot in the chest!
HBO continues its "Waiting Sucks" video marketing campaign for the third season of "True Blood" this week with a tantalizing teaser that puts the fan favorite vampire Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård) directly in harm's way — or, more precisely, a bullet's way!
After the jump, check out all of the gory details on the latest "Waiting Sucks" teaser!
Last month, Jessalyn Gilsig (a.k.a. Mr. Shuester's pregnancy-faking estranged wife, Terri), told Hollywood Crush that she would be getting her very own musical number on "Glee." At the time, she kept mum on what song she would be singing, but like most celebrities, we've managed to wear her down!
At the spring premiere of "Glee" on April 12 in L.A., Jessalyn confirmed, "It's a Beck song," adding, "Isn't that cool? It's a little departure for the show and in a very unexpected location, and with a very unexpected grouping of cast members."
Two weeks ago, "Glee" star Cory Monteith signed on to play the boyfriend of Katie's character Emma, and todayVariety announced that French actor Pierre Boulanger will be the love interest to Selena Gomez's Grace.
