That feeling of being swept off your feet isn’t something “Letters to Juliet” star Amanda Seyfried takes lightly! She recently opened up to us about what exactly she would do for that sweet (and sometimes not so sweet) emotion called love.
With a ton of romantic films under her belt (“Mamma Mia” and “Dear John”), it’s no surprise Amanda is a true romantic at heart, telling us “I’d fly anywhere for someone if I loved them. There are no boundaries.”
If you’re concerned about her “no boundaries” attitude towards love, don’t be! She also added, “There are some things I wouldn’t do. I wouldn’t kill for love, for sure, but I would do anything positive for love. I would do it.”
And Amanda even told us that what drew her to “Letters to Juliet” was the positive philosophy on love she shares with her character Sophie, “That's another reason I liked the script, because I connected to that romance. She's not cynical. There's nothing cynical about her, and a lot of times in a romantic comedy, the lead character is pretty cynical about love. And she's not and I love that. [Charlie's] that guy. ... I'm glad it was him.”
Charlie, played by Christopher Egan, is the grandson of Claire (Vanessa Redgrave). In the film, on a trip to Verona, Italy, Sophie visits Shakespeare character Juliet’s courtyard where she finds an unanswered letter pleading for love advice to Juliet. Sophie did what any girl would do finding an unanswered love letter — she answered it! This ignites a romantic journey for Claire, Charlie and Sophie as they embark on a road trip to find Claire’s lost love.
