Ladies and gentlemen, meet the most genetically gifted family to ever grace the big screen: sexy "True Blood" vampire Alexander Skarsgard has just signed on to play the dreamy older brother of "Friday Night Lights" hottie Taylor Kitsch in the live-action film version of the board game "Battleship."
According to The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog, Alexander will play "a straight and narrow naval officer" whom [Taylor's character], a wildly spirited naval officer, idolizes. " You know what that means? Uniforms. Swoon.
Not too many plot details about the movie have been released, but we do know that there will be aliens involved. (Funny, we don't remember any aliens in the board game.) Heat Vision reports that the script "revolves around an international fleet coming together to battle a water-bound armada of otherworldly origin." The movie is set to come out in summer 2012.
Alexander has been acting regularly for more than a decade, although his films have mostly been Swedish. (He was born and raised in Sweden.) For American audiences, he played a male model in "Zoolander" and a Marine sergeant in the HBO miniseries "Generation Kill" before landing his current role as vampire Eric Northman on "True Blood."
Do you believe Alexander and Taylor as brothers? How much would you like a poster-sized family photo of those two hanging on your wall?
