When MTV News sat down with Katherine Heigl a couple of weeks ago to talk about her new film, "Killers," we also got her to give us some scoop on her next project, "One for the Money." Katherine's playing gorgeous but goofy bounty hunter Stephanie Plum in the film adaptation of the popular crime novel series by Janet Evanovich.
Filming doesn't begin until July, but according to Katherine, right now the production team is trying to finalize Stephanie's look. In the books, Stephanie's a low-maintenance natural beauty ("a total jeans and t-shirt kind of gal so that's easy," said Katherine) — going out requires nothing more than a coat of mascara and some lipstick — but she's constantly dissatisfied with her hair.
"Stephanie, in the book, has brown, crazy curly hair that often is its own character," Katherine said. Getting the hair right will be a major part of establishing Stephanie's personality.
That could present a problem for the actress, who has naturally very straight hair. "I don't, obviously, have curly hair, so I think we're going to do wigs, because we're filming in Pittsburgh in the summer and its going to be hot and humid and I can't keep a curl."
Katherine notoriously showed up to her "Killers" premiere in a dated, poufy updo that got a lot of criticism, and she told MTV News she was skeptical about how she will look with ringlets. "I cannot wait to see how that's going to look on me. What if it's just horrible? Well, we're going to try to make it look right."
