With season 3 premiering at 5.1 million viewers; it is no surprise that HBO was quick to renew the hit series for its next season. "The new season of 'True Blood' is off to a terrific start, as enthusiasm for this unique show continues to build among both subscribers and critics," noted Michael in a release. "We're looking forward to more chills from Alan Ball and his gifted team next year."
Even though we're only two episodes into season 3, we're sure fans will be happy to know their favorite characters won't be going anywhere anytime soon.
"True Blood" is slated to shoot its 12 episode Season 4 early next year with its premier tentatively scheduled for summer 2011. The news of the renewal has both fans and the shows creator and executive producer Alan ecstatic, natch. "I am beyond thrilled to be able to continue working with this amazing cast and crew," he said. "This is the most fun I have ever had."
Fans now have the summer ahead of them to enjoy season 3 which has been hailed “summer’s best TV” with the peace of mind that the residents of Bon Temps are going no where any time soon.
