If you think Taylor Lautner's family might go a little easier on him when he comes home and does his chores after months of traveling to promote his latest film, well, you'd be wrong. The "Eclipse" star told Matt Lauer on the "Today" show this morning that his family treats him no differently than they did before "Twilight" mania started. In fact, "maybe even harsher. I've got extra mowing to do."
Some 18-year-old boys might dread housework; then again, not all 18-year-old boys are also super-famous megastars. Taylor told Matt, "When I'm home, I help out with the lawn, garbage, dishes, everything," and it's something he wants to keep doing "as long as possible. It's very important to me. I describe it as I live two lives. I do. I have this life where I do what I love to do, but I also have the same exact life as I did before, and literally nothing has changed."
Truly, though, lots of things have changed for Taylor the actor. He has grown into his role as a crucial figure in The Twilight Saga's supernatural love triangle, and is front and center for much of "Eclipse" — something we're sure must've subconsciously influenced his choice of "Eclipse" as his preferred installment of the Saga.
"'Eclipse' is definitely my favorite of the series," he said. "The book was my favorite. I feel like 'Eclipse' takes everything about the franchise — the romance, the action, the danger — and it takes it all to the next level. It's very exciting."
Of course, most of Jacob Black's action takes place in wolf form, something Taylor was a little bummed about. "I was very jealous of my wolf. I love the action, that's the fun part. My wolf has all the action in this movie."
To be fair, Human Jacob has some action too, if you count people drooling over your chiseled six-pack abs as action. (Maybe a Situation?) Taylor told Matt that people frequently want to see him shirtless. "In 'Valentine's Day,' originally it was in the script that I'm walking in the school and I change my shirt and I'm like 'What? That doesn't make any sense. We've got to do something about this.'"
What did you think of Taylor's "Today" show appearance? Are you excited for the movie to come out on Wednesday?
