Episode Title: "It Hurts Me Too"
Written By: Alexander Woo
Story: Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) is hot on the trail of Bill Compton's (Stephen Moyer) abductors, thanks to the help of Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård) and his werewolf servant Alcide (Joe Manganiello). Jason (Ryan Kwanten) finds himself seeking a new career path thanks to his recent heroic actions. Arlene (Carrie Preston) learns some news that should make her quite happy, but there's a tragic twist involved. Franklin Mott (James Frain) distracts Tara (Rutina Wesley) from her broken heart. Speaking of broken hearts, Bill breaks something of Lorena's (Mariana Klaveno).
Breaking Hearts, Among Other Things: So, how about that final sex scene between Bill and Lorena? If that's not the most messed up thing you've ever seen Bill do, I'm not sure that we're watching the same show!
But we're getting ahead of ourselves, aren't we? Let's rewind.
After eviscerating a rogue werewolf, Eric warns Sookie that the wolves have ties to Jackson, Mississippi. He sets her up with Alcide, a werewolf from the Jackson area. Alcide serves as Sookie's guide, but the mismatched pair find themselves in an unexpectedly hairy situation at a local Jackson werewolf bar. Thanks to Alcide's brawn and Sookie's brains, the two are able to get themselves out of immediate danger. But the promise of the sinister Debbie Pelt (Brit Morgan), Alcide's ex-fiance, is a surefire sign that trouble hasn't shifted its sights away from Sookie and Alcide.
Sookie isn't the only Stackhouse looking to roll up her sleeves, as Jason prepares to take an exam to qualify for Bon Temps' police squad. Seems like another chapter in the always continuing awesomeness between Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer) and Jason, doesn't it? It's just a shame that Jason still can't get over his kneejerk killing of Eggs (Mehcad Brooks). Assuming he's able to put it behind him, he'll make one heck of a fine deputy to Andy's sheriff.
In other Bon Temps gossip, it appears that Arlene is pregnant — except she isn't having Terry's (Todd Lowe) baby. She's pregnant with the long deceased Rene's (Michael Raymond-James) child. She's withholding that info from Terry for now, but there's no way that can stay a secret for long.
Beyond the police aspirations of Jason and the domestic issues of Arlene, local Bon Temps vampire Jessica Hamby (Deborah Ann Woll) is having some troubles of her own. The trucker that she accidentally overdrained went missing, but we ultimately learned that the man was beheaded and abducted by Franklin Mott, the British vampire who has his eye on Tara — and, apparently, he has some use for Jessica as well. As for what he wants from the redheaded vampire? That remains to be seen, though it can't be good!
But truthfully, it's hard to discuss anything other than Bill Compton tonight, isn't it? Thanks to a tragic flashback, we witnessed Bill's final moments with his wife — moments that were witnessed by Lorena, as well. It's no wonder that Bill hates Lorena so much, but even with all the terrible things she's done, it's hard to justify his... er... actions towards her in the bedroom. Truly, the final scene of "It Hurts Me Too" was one of the most painful scenes I've ever seen on "True Blood." It makes one wonder whether or not Bill can ever come back from such a terrible moment.
