Toy Story 3Just in case you forgot, Spencer Pratt reminded followers on Twitter that, "Today's the Official First Day of Summer." So what was the celebrity Twitterverse chatting about this June 21st? Well, Amanda Bynes' announcement over the weekend that she is quitting acting, for one! The news upset author R.L. Stine ("Goosebumps" shout-out!) who wrote today, "Amanda Bynes, one of the funniest and most talented young comedy actresses, has retired at age 24. Amanda appeared in one of my shows..."

While fans and friends alike were saddened by Amanda's news, no one was upset about "Toy Story 3," which was a smash at the box office this weekend. "Harry Potter" star Tom Felton raved about the film, tweeting, "went to see toy story 3 whilst we were in Orlando, brilliant film!! really enjoyed it!" and Owl City front man Adam Young shared his love, too, posting, "Toy Story 3 left me, myself and I grinning from ear to ear. Smiles were everywhere."

The stars will align tonight for two reasons: first, a Miley Cyrus concert live stream on MTV websites and second — on a more serious note — for a special telethon to help the oil crisis in the Gulf coast on "Larry King Live." “DISASTER IN THE GULF: How You Can Help,” will air from 8 to 10pm ET on CNN.

The two-hour event will help raise funds for United Way, The National Wildlife Federation and The Nature Conservancy, all of which are organizations working directly with the families, individuals and wildlife affected by the Gulf oil spill.

Orlando Bloom And Miranda KerrBy George Loomis

Summer officially beginning today has everyone in a good mood, and perhaps it’s just enough to give all those happy couples the extra push! A rep for Orlando Bloom confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor is the latest star to become engaged, as he prepares to wed longtime girlfriend, model Miranda Kerr.

We haven’t heard much from Orlando recently, probably because the pair has remained tightlipped about their relationship since they began dating in 2007. Miranda in particular has never enjoyed dishing about her boyfriend of nearly three years, even though the press frequently hounds her for comments.

Some of our favorite stars headed across the border (to Canada!) last night for the MuchMusic Awards, hosted by Miley Cyrus and Perez Hilton. Sadly, many of them clearly forgot to pack their good outfits, because the red carpet had a few notable worsts. Check out the pictures and our fashion recap below.

As host of the Much Music Awards, Miley went through a lot of outfit changes, but this nude, strapless dress by Hervé Léger was our favorite by far. Not only was it age appropriate and totally classy, her hair and makeup looked flawless. It's not often we get to see the teen star with a short do, so this was a nice change of pace.

Prom castJust this weekend I was bemoaning the lack of quality high school comedies, and today, Disney's come to my rescue. Deadline Hollywood reported this morning that Disney has chosen the cast for its newest franchise venture (which will hopefully become another "High School Musical"-like success), "Prom," and it looks quite promising. (No pun intended. Really.)

Among a cast of mostly unknowns with just a handful of credits to their IMDb pages are Aimee Teegarden of "Friday Night Lights" and Nicholas Braun of the late (and great) "10 Things I Hate About You" TV show. You might recognize Danielle Campbell as the lead in the Disney Channel Original Movie "StarStruck" or Yin Chang as the overachieving Nelly Yuki in "Gossip Girl," but for the most part, the other actors haven't done anything too notable ... yet.

EclipseThere are nine days left until "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" hits theaters, and though "New Moon" was released only seven months ago, it feels like we've had to wait years. Fortunately, Summit Entertainment is full-on sprinting down this last week and a half until the third installment in "The Twilight Saga" is released, and is whipping out new TV spots and clips to the left and right.

A lot of what is included is footage we're already familiar with, so instead of rehashing the old, we're going to focus on what's new and what we like most in the two TV spots and one clip included below.

On the heels of the awesome season 3 premiere, Michael Lombardo (pictured far left), president of HBO Programming announced today that "True Blood" will return next year for season 4.

With season 3 premiering at 5.1 million viewers; it is no surprise that HBO was quick to renew the hit series for its next season. Amanda BynesHere's proof that we're living in an entirely different generation than our parents: Amanda Bynes announced on Saturday via Twitter that, at the ripe age of 24, she is retiring from acting.

"I've never written the movies & tv shows I've been apart of I've only acted like the characters the producers or directors wanted me to play," she tweeted at about 6 a.m. on Saturday. "Being an actress isn't as fun as it may seem."

About 50 minutes later, Amanda additionally tweeted," "If I don't love something anymore I stop doing it. I don't love acting anymore so I've stopped doing it. I know 24 is a young age to retire but you heard it here first I've #retired."

For a 17-year-old, Miley Cyrus has many accomplishments under her belt. From her Disney sitcom “Hannah Montana,” to her superstardom as a pop singer, it’s no wonder that so many girls look up to her. But with the release of her Can’t be Tamed album (don't forget her concert streams for free on MTV tonight!), Miley has been criticized for trying to be far too mature for her age; she’s seen wearing skimpier outfits, dancing sexier, and simulating girl-on-girl kisses to name a few. But in a recent interview, Miley told MTV News how she steers clear from the negativity – she chooses not to read it.

The young star is able to surround herself with positive people who make sure she isn’t exposed to the awful things people say about her. Her team only talks about the good things, to which Miley explained, “I never see anything or read anything that's bad because it's never e-mailed to me by my manager or publicist or whoever.”
