Story: Moments after his shocking "make up" with Lorena (Mariana Klaveno), Bill (Stephen Moyer) calls Sookie (Anna Paquin) with an update. Undeterred by his news, Sookie continues her quest to rescue Bill, but finds herself wrapped up in Alcide's (Joe Manganiello) preoccupation with his ex-girlfriend, Debbie Pelt (Brit Morgan). Franklin's (James Frain) interest in Tara (Rutina Wesley) increases, while Sam (Sam Trammell) finds himself reaching out to his family with a new offer. Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) gets a new job while Jason (Ryan Kwanten) seeks a new one for himself. Meanwhile, Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) finds himself in dangerous water with his vampire supervisors once it becomes clear he's involved in the illegal dealing of vampire blood.

Bloodbath: Bill has fallen very far and very hard. While his grotesque sex scene with Lorena is hard to top, his actions in "9 Crimes" are hardly redeemable, either. Perhaps one could forgive his comments to Sookie as an attempt to get her to stay out of harm's way, but Bill doomed an innocent girl to gory vampire death at the hands of Lorena and King Russell Edgington (Denis O'Hare). It's going to be very difficult for Bill to dig himself out of this hole in both Sookie and the audience's eyes.
But Sookie remains undaunted in her quest to reclaim Bill from the vampires and werewolves, teaming up with Alcide to break into the werewolf inner circle, thanks to his connection to ex-girlfriend Debbie Pelt. Putting on her best Sydney Bristow impersonation, Sookie disguises herself and blends into the crowd at Lupine's, only to find that these werewolves are being fed vampire blood by none other than Russell. Just as she's starting to put the pieces together, the crowd around her begins to shift into their true wolf state — Alcide included — leaving Sookie and viewers without a clue as to how things are going to progress.
Sookie isn't the only damsel in distress – heck, I'd argue that Tara is much worse. Mere days after Eggs was murdered, Tara has now found herself in the clutches of menacing vampire Franklin Mott, suffering a bite to the neck and getting held hostage in a motel bathroom by the British vamp. Franklin clearly plans to use Tara as a means to getting to Sookie and Bill, but it also seems he has a vested interest in Tara herself. That can't bode well for one of Merlotte's most consistently troubled employees.
Speaking of Merlotte's, Sam is quickly learning that reaching out to his birth parents wasn't the greatest idea of all time. His brother Tommy (Marshall Allman) is attempting to steal from Sam out of desperation, since he and his parents have been kicked out of their home. Sam comes to them with a proposal: if they stop boozing and if Tommy stops thieving, he'll take care of them for the time being. It's a nice offer, but something tells me that Sam is going to regret this latest development sooner rather than later.
In other Merlotte's news, Jessica is now an employee at Bon Temps' premiere nightlife scene, which might end up providing her with an easy opportunity to kidnap and feed off of locals — let's just hope she's learned a thing or two from the last trucker she drained. Jessica isn't the only character seeking gainful employment, as Jason wants to become a police officer under the supervision of newly minted sheriff Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer), though Jason's considering blackmailing Andy in order to fast-track his way onto the force.
On the other side of the law, it appears that Eric's days as a vampire blood dealer have finally caught up with him. After Bill tells Russell that he believes Eric is dealing on Queen Sophie-Anne's (Evan Rachel Wood) behest, Fangtasia gets raided and Pam (Kristin Bauer) finds herself at the mercy of the Magister. After Eric is able to convince the Magister that he's investigating Bill Compton, he's given two days to come back with results — or else Pam dies.
