After five seasons of watching Lauren Conrad's mascara tears, it was hard to believe that anyone could replace her when she made the decision to leave "The Hills" smack-dab in the middle of season five. But after showing up at Heidi Montag's big, dream wedding to Spencer Pratt and sending best wishes to her frenemy, Lauren drove off into the sunset, never to return to the show again.
As she made her grand exit, Kristin Cavallari, her biggest foe on "Laguna Beach," strutted into the church at Speidi's wedding and assumed the vacated spot (one conveniently right next to Audrina's ex, Justin Bobby). She embraced the lead role with open arms, got into a few catfights, broke a heart or two and forever changed the landscape and vibe of the show.
