It’s been almost a decade since we’ve last seen a "Scream" film, but "Scream 4" is officially on its way to making more horror movie magic happen. MTV News caught up with Hayden Panettiere to chat about the beginning of production on the movie. She stars as Kirby Reed whom she described as “edgy, sassy and smart.”
Hayden said that even though a big chunk of time that has passed since the last "Scream" debuted (the first two films premiered in 1996 and 1997 and Scream 3 debuted in 2000), she isn't worried. "I think it's just perfect timing," she insisted adding that the premise to the film is also dead on (get it?). "It's a perfect setup, with all of these films ... the [fictional] 'Stab' [movies] and all the things like that. I think with all of the 'Scream' [films], the idea is to throw the audience for a loop every time.” We sure are interested to see what kind of “loop” the 20-year-old has in store for us!
Besides Hayden, a cast of both new and returning veteran “Scream” actors are featured in the film. Yes, David Arquette is back along with Courteney Cox and Neve Campbell (woo!) And, if that’s not enough, other new additions include Emma Roberts, Rory Culkin and Adam Brody. “We've got an incredible new cast that's come in," Hayden said, "and we have a pretty good team."
What do you think of Hayden acting as the lead in this thriller? Is she only cut out for roles like she played in “I Love You, Beth Cooper” and “Bring It On”?
