Our dearest Joshua Jackson held something he called "Pacey-Con" last week, only feet away from that other con, Comic-Con. And, in a new Funny or Die video, our husband, we mean Joshua, explained why he thinks Pacey-Con is such an important cultural event. (We really don’t need an explanation — fyi — we just know it is!)
Josh bills his event as as "one of the year's biggest entertainment events… The only convention that celebrates all things Pacey Witter and 'Dawson's Creek' in the entire country." At the convention, he wears one of the infamous Pacey bowling shirts, meets the fans that devoted years to "this amazing character" and reads fan fiction, written by Josh himself.
But, have you ever questioned how Josh could do that other show he does? Well, he has an explanation. "The honest answer is I'm only doing it to fund my first love which is Pacey fan fiction," he said of "Fringe." "You can just expand the universe with that character in any direction that you want."
So, what makes Pacey important enough to warrant his own Con? "Pacey-Con can't be contained within somebody else's convention," he shared. "He demands a convention of his own. It has nothing to do with me. It's the character. It's bigger than me."
And finally: "Pacey Witter is the greatest character in television history." We 100 percent agree.
What did you think of the "Pacey-Con" video? Did it bring back lots of "Dawson's" memories for you?
