'Gossip Girl' Season 4: Chace Crawford's New Love Interest Is A 'Raging, Conniving Mean Girl'

From Blair to Serena to Vanessa to Jennie, we’ve seen "Gossip Girl" Ivy League student Nate Archibald involved in many, many love affairs. And now, this Upper East Side hottie will add another one to his list. So who’s the lucky actress that gets struck by Archibald’s arrow? It’s the former “Melrose Place” star Katie Cassidy, who joined the show’s fourth season as Nate’s on-screen leading lady.

Chace Crawford, who chatted with MTV News last night at the premiere of his drama “Twelve," said he is quite excited about the debut of Katie’s character.

“Katie's great! She just started like three weeks ago and I think 10 or 12 episodes she's here for.” He also added, "She's obviously a raging, conniving mean girl at the end of it. She sort of does her thing. They can't be straight-up but she's fun, her character." Hmm, could it be a bit of an off screen romance as well?

"Gossip Girl" fans (myself included!) are probably also excited that season 4 will take the cast to a city far far away from Manhattan: Paris! Unfortunately for Chace, he wasn't picked to take the European adventure. "I didn’t get to go to Paris! I don’t know [why]!" he said. "The girls are shoving each other around in fountains and [the rest of us] shoot in New York City."

He's probably a bit peeved his partner-in-crime, Ed Westwick, got to go, but Chace said he deserved to after taking a bullet in the season 3 finale. "He got shot [on camera last season] and so he had a cane and the whole thing. Maybe they’ll send us to Costa Rica," he said. "We'll see!"

Poor Chace... as if being able to kiss Leighton Meester and Blake Lively in the Big Apple wasn't enough!
