Demi Lovato has a few popular recording artists in mind to guest on her new album, and neither are the Jonas Brothers. No, each of her dream collaborators has a tad bit more street cred than, say, Joe Jonas. And both of these recognizable voices in hip-hop are more than welcome on her Rihanna-influenced new LP.
“I would love for Drake to be on the album,” Demi told MTV News while hitting the road with the Jonas Brothers. “It’s kind of like a pipe dream. I would also like to do a song with Trey Songz. It would be hot! Yeah, it would be really good.”
Unfortunately (for us), other than confirming that Drake and Trey are unconfirmed, Demi remained tight-lipped about other collaborators. “I’ve been working with a few producers,” she revealed, before getting general. “I don’t know if I can talk about it, but I’m excited to start working with more people.”
Demi has already exposed her impressive vocal range on the “Camp Rock” soundtracks and her usual rock-tinged tunes, but could it finally be time for the Disney starlet to become an R&B princess? Just maybe!
“I’m working on new music, writing new songs, trying to approach a different route, doing a new sound,” Demi gushed. “I’m really excited. I’ll be fun. It’s more R&B/pop. I’m trying to bring out my inner ‘soul’; a new side of Demi,” she laughed. “I’m straying away from the rock this time.”
Do you think Demi can mature into a respected recording artist, and can you picture her in the same league as Rihanna? What collaborators could help solidify her new sound?
