The final weeks of summer are upon us, and while everyone is getting their last minute beach trips in before the weather gets cooler, it's kind of hard to wrap one's head around the fact that the fall movie season is almost upon us. Unquestionably, one of the biggest movies to come out of that season is "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1." Does it excite you or terrify you that it is only three months and a few days away? For us, it's a little of both.
Fortunately, Warner Bros. is pumping up the anticipation by some absolutely stunning trailers (a second full one, focused entirely around "Part 1," should be heading our way soon) and also by releasing high-res versions of the photos released in Entertainment Weekly's fall preview. Hello, Harry and Ginny smooching.
What's nice is that the pictures offer a look into the film that the trailer didn't show us, which seems like a first for film promotion. Take the Ginny and Harry one for instance. In the trailer, we see Ginny and Harry having a passionate smooch, yes, but that one takes place during the second film while Hogwarts is falling down around them.
This photo takes place during part one at the Weasley's house before Harry, Ron and Hermione need to go on the run. Harry had broken up with Ginny, but there were still feelings there on both sides, and Ginny decided to give Harry a birthday present to remember her by during the only quiet moment the two get together. Spoiler: her not-to-happy-about-it brother Ron will quickly come in and spoil the fun.
It's also nice to see that Hermione has that controversial blood back on her hands in this other still, where she is putting up protection spells around her, Ron and Harry's campsite. If you'll remember, the first teaser released showed Hermione with blood on her hands, but one later released had removed the blood from her hands so it would be acceptable for all audiences.
Despite those great shots, though, we must admit that we're a little bit more excited about our first look at Xenophilius Lovegood, the release of Hedwig mystery being resolved and a closer look at our favorite Death Eaters. Can the next three months please come a bit quicker?
Which of the six new stills is your favorite?
