Who would have thought that one of the most "wait, what are they adapting?" movies to be announced in 2010 would end up with one of the most beautiful casts around? Not us, that's for sure.
Yesterday, it was announced that Brooklyn Decker would be joining the likes of Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgard and Rihanna in the upcoming board game adaptation "Battleship," and that got us thinking of other films — past and present — that have wowed us with their beautiful casts. Strange trend: the nerdier the film, the better an attractive ensemble it has.

"X-MEN: FIRST CLASS"
Keeping it current, "X-Men: First Class" seems slated to win the record of most cast announcements in a one week period of time, and the ensemble comic book flick seems slated to take the cake with casting the most up-and-coming beautiful people. Just yesterday, they announced "Mad Men's" January Jones had joined in the fun, which adds her to the ranks of (maybe) Alice Eve, Rose Byrne and Jennifer Lawrence. But they've got the hot guys quota filled too. Leading the pack is James McAvoy as a young Charles Xavier, and he is followed by "Twilight's" Edi Gathegi, Nicholas Hoult, Lucas Till, (maybe) Aaron Johnson and whoever still thinks Kevin Bacon is hot.
Okay, this one's a little obvious. Of course it's filled with beautiful people, it's an ensemble romcom! But we have to name last year's fluffy comedy because is no other film where you can you find Taylor Lautner, Taylor Swift, Emma Roberts, Carter Jenkins, Topher Grace, Julia Roberts, Eric Dane, Patrick Dempsey, Bradley Cooper, Ashton Kutcher, Jessica Alba, Jennifer Garner and Jessica Biel all in the same place.
Could you ask for a prettier cast? There's the love triangle between Katie Holmes, Anna Paquin and Josh Duhamel, in addition to Adam Brody, Dianna Agron, Elijah Wood and Malin Akerman, all being thirty-something and angsty. We can't wait until this one hits limited release next month.
Even though "Ocean's Eleven" only came out in 2001, we consider it the classic in unified hotness if only because it proved that big Hollywood actors in our modern age are more than willing to share the limelight. George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon are our big three in this film, but who can forget how wonderfully Steven Soderbergh wove in Julia Roberts, Casey Affleck and Scott Caan. Bonus points for adding Catherina Zeta-Jones to the mix in the film's sequel, "Ocean's Twelve."
