Two new faces are joining the cast of "Scream 4," if only to make their celebrity cameos and then probably be killed off. USA Today announced today that Anna Paquin and Kristen Bell have signed on to play roles in the upcoming installment of the "Scream" franchise.
They'll join franchise regulars Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courtney Cox Arquette, in addition to newcomers Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Lake Bell, Adam Brody, Allison Brie and Mary McDonnell.
Big name celebs have had a playful history with the horror satire, most notably Drew Barrymore's role in 1996's "Scream." Drew was heavily advertised as being a part of the film, since the rest of the cast was relatively unknown. But she was promptly killed off at the beginning of the film, breaking the stereotype that the big name lead always live to the end.
Fortunately, both Anna and Kristen are no strangers to being scream queens. Anna starred in the cult hit "Trick 'r Treat" as a werewolf dressed as Little Red Riding Hood, while Kristen starred in the American remake of the horror flick "Pulse." Hopefully both of them get deaths worthy of their thrill-inducing skills.
And what better way to start off the movie than with the two of them being unsuspecting victims, similar to how Drew was killed off in the original "Scream"? We're just speculating now, but we're assuming Anna and Kristen's cameos are not going to have much to do with the main plot of "Scream 4." Still, we are very, very glad to have them.
What other celebrity cameos would you want to see in "Scream 4"?
