With the start of the new TV season right around the corner (and some of our favorite shows, like "The Vampire Diaries," already on the air), we're tuning our channel to fall television all week long on Hollywood Crush! In our "TV to Talk About" feature, we'll highlight a new show each day that we're super-psyched to see. Weigh in and let us know what you think too!
TODAY WE'RE TALKING ABOUT... "Undercovers"
PREMIERES: Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 8/7 C on NBC
STARS: Boris Kodjoe, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Gerald McRaney, Carter MacIntyre
PREMISE: Married couple Steven (Kodjoe) and Samantha Bloom (Mbatha-Raw) live a nice, quiet life as the owners of a small Los Angeles catering company. But that wasn't always their life; five years ago, the Blooms were two of the best spies ever employed by the CIA, mutually agreeing to retire and pursue a life together as normal civilians. But when an old spy friend (MacIntyre) goes missing, the Blooms are thrust back into the high-octane world of assassinations and espionage, providing them with the booster shot that their fledgling marriage needed.
WHY WE'RE EXCITED: In one week's time, television viewers the world over are going to fall in love with Kodjoe and Mbatha-Raw, the sexy protagonists of "Undercovers," whose chemistry is surpassed only by their unending tendency to kick butt on the small screen. Beyond the show's compelling leads, "Undercovers" is the brainchild of pop-culture mastermind J.J. Abrams, already responsible for shepherding cult television hits like "Felicity," "Alias" and "Lost." Tie all of that together with a concept that brings viewers a weekly dose of "Mr. & Mrs. Smith"-styled action, and you've got to ask yourself: How can "Undercovers" be anything but a winner?
Will you be tuning into "Undercovers"?
