"Vamps" filming must be winding to a close, because star Krysten Ritter has suddenly become a very busy lady. Variety reports that both Krysten and Kate Bosworth have signed on to the indie comedy "BFF & Baby," which Krysten apparently cowrote with director Kat Coiro.
Is it wrong to hope that, since this is an indie and stars Kate, there might be room for an Alexander Skarsgård cameo in the film? Maybe, but we promise, that isn't the only reason we're interested in the film.
The story revolves around two best friends who have to deal with the aftermath of Krysten's character getting pregnant and having a baby. Surprisingly enough, this is a concept we really haven't seen, since it's usually either an unsuspecting guy and girl who have to deal with a baby (read: "Life As We Know It") or else it's a pair of guys floundering around trying to take care of a kid (hello "Big Daddy" and "Three Men and a Baby"). We like the idea that Krysten and Kat are questioning the suggestion that a woman can easily handle having a child because she's meant to be a mother.
The film is set to start production on October 19 in Los Angeles.
In the meantime, Krysten can be seen in the upcoming U2 biopic called "Killing Bono," starring opposite "Chronicles of Narnia" hunk Ben Barnes. Looks like Krysten is finally moving out of the funny sidekick role and into the shoes of a leading lady. We're guessing her stint on the critical darling "Breaking Bad" had something to do with that or the surprise success of this year's "She's Out Of My League."
Is this a film concept that interests you? Are you also secretly hoping for a cameo by Alexander Skarsgård?
