Between his critically-acclaimed work in movies like "Alpha Dog," his current star turn in "The Social Network" and his ongoing gig as Saturday Night Live's most crushworthy unofficial cast member, it's easy to forget that Justin Timberlake actually started out his career as a bona-fide Tiger Beat pop heartthrob. But when he stopped by "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" to talk about his role in the new David Fincher flick, Justin was all about the music—giving props to house band The Roots and reminding Jimmy that he grew up with a serious love of hip-hop.
"*NSYNC—you know, this little group I was in?" quipped Justin, as appreciative whoops from the audience confirmed that there were plenty of fangirls in the house, "We asked the Sugar Hill Gang to come open up for us, they came, and they rocked—they ROCKED my WORLD."
And then, to prove just how ROCKED his world REALLY WAS, he grabbed a mic and joined Jimmy onstage for what is basically the greatest thing we have ever seen: a surprise medley of rap songs through the ages, starting with "Rapper's Delight" by the Sugar Hill Gang, then churning through hits by the Beastie Boys, Snoop Dogg, Kanye, Missy Elliot and more, before finishing up with Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind".
Check it out above! And don't look away at the 3-minute mark, or you'll miss the greatest synchronized man-dancing since...well, *NSYNC.
Which version of JT do you prefer? Justin Timberlake, rapper? Justin Timberlake, actor? Justin Timberlake, shirtless?
