Leighton Meester has been a bona fide fashion queen ever since her first appearance on "Gossip Girl," when she singlehandedly began the Great Headband Resurgence of 2007. But in an interview with MTV News, Leighton said that public reaction is the one thing she doesn't think about when she gets dressed in the morning.
"I've let any of that go, to be honest with you," she said, after being asked about pressures associated with her style icon status.

We here at Hollywood Crush had some pretty strong opinions about today's 2011 Golden Globe nominations. But there were some other folks who had plenty to say about the praise from the Hollywood Foreign Press: the Golden Globes nominees themselves! The cast of "Glee" had a big morning as they racked up more noms than any other TV show (5 in total!) Best Actress nominee Lea Michele took the opportunity to give kudos to her fellow Gold hopefuls Jane Lynch, Matthew Morrison and Chris Colfer, as she tweeted, "Oh my g-d!!!! So excited, happy, thrilled, and thankful this morning:) What amazing news!! So happy for our show, Jane, matt & chris too!!!!" Thrilled first-time nominee Chris followed suit and posted, "OMGG! I can't believe it! Am I awake? OUCH! Yes, I'm awake! I'm going to obnoxiously tackle everyone I see today!"
"Glee" has some serious competition in the equally-beloved "Modern Family." The two shows will face off in acting categories, as well as the big one: Best Television Series, Comedy or Musical. The "Modern Family" cast showed each other a different kind of love, like nominee Eric Stonestreet who jokingly wrote to his on-screen brood, "honored and grateful. we ARE an ensemble over there. ANY1 of us deserves 2 b nominated. But IN YOUR FACE @STARRINGRICO AND @NOLAN_GOULD!" Hilarious youngster Nolan Gould was a good sport about it as he wrote back, "@ericstonestreet You are the man! Can I at least come over and dust all your trophies for you?"
But, for anyone hoping for a "Glee"/"Modern Family" rivalry, you'll be disappointed. In fact, both casts are super supportive of each other. Just check out Jesse Tyler Ferguson's tweet to Chris Colfer, "Of course my alliance is with my TV lover but I am tickled pink about @chriscolfer and his Golden Globe nomination today!" and his response, which read, "@jessetyler You are so sweet and I'm also siding with you guys!"

There's no denying it's been a rough year for celebrity couplings, but this week has been a particularly trying one for La La Land's lovebirds. Hot on the heels of news long-time couple Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens parted ways, comes word preternaturally perfect-looking pair Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson have separated. TMZ was the first to report the news. When reached for comment by MTV News, Ryan's rep sent the following statement from the couple:
"After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we've decided to end our marriage. We entered our relationship with love and it's with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn't expected, it's certainly appreciated."
The couple were married in 2008 in a small ceremony outside of Vancouver, B.C. Though famously tight-lipped about their relationship, Ryan and Scarlett have given hints about their private romance.

The results are in! After a week of voting (and a dramatic lead change or two), Hollywood Crush readers have picked their favorite YA novel of 2010. [Drum roll, please!] And the winner is...Richelle Mead's "Last Sacrifice"! The spectacular finale to Richelle's six-part "Vampire Academy" series following 17-year-old Dhampir Rose Hathaway and her Moroi vampire BFF Vasilisa "Lissa" Dragomir, took the No. 1 spot, besting runners-up "The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner" by Stephenie Meyer and "Mockingjay" by Suzanne Collins. (You can see a complete list of the nominees here.)
Thankfully, for fans of Richelle's artfully crafted vampire world, "Last Sacrifice" is not really the end. As we announced earlier this month, Richelle's spin-off series, "Bloodlines," will hit bookstore shelves in August 2011. Richelle told Entertainment Weekly recently that the series will focus on human Sydney and Moroi vampire Jill, adding rather coyly, "The male lead is going to be the big surprise. I'll only say that it's one of the love interests from 'Vampire Academy.'" Oh, the suspense!

The Hollywood Foreign Press has released its list of nominees for the 2011 Golden Globes, and we're pleased that so many of our favorites got some recognition. So congrats Ryan Gosling, Anne Hathaway, Matthew Morrison, Emma Stone, and everyone else who got nominated; we've been rooting for you the whole time! But still, we couldn't help feel like there was one supernatural fanged creature that got snubbed this year. Where are all of our favorite vampires?
It's not too much of a stretch to have expected at least "True Blood" to be on the list. Anna Paquin won Best Actress back in 2009 and was nominated in 2010, and the show received Best Drama noms the past two years, as well. But this year it was booted from the list by the likes of "Boardwalk Empire" and "The Walking Dead," and consistent awards show favorites "Dexter," "Mad Men" and "The Good Wife." And none of the "True Blood" actors earned any recognition for their consistently awesome performances throughout the third season.
But "True Blood" wasn't the only vampire series up for contention that was ignored in this year's Globes nominations. "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" also got the cold shoulder. What does this mean for the vampire fad as we know it?!

We already knew that Ryan Gosling was the perfect guy. (I mean really. Smart, handsome, successful, and yet somehow unfailingly modest about his lustworthy status and unparalleled awesomeness? Be still my beating heart!) And in January's issue of GQ, our favorite leading man just keeps impressing us—this time with an interview that reveals him to be the world's most down-to-earth movie star, ever.
And we mean down-to-earth. Ryan admits that he doesn't even think he deserves the success he's had so far—that he's still waiting for the other shoe to drop.
"Look, this is crazy," he said. "I don’t understand how I’m here, living this life, wearing this suit. I assume I’m going to pay for it someday…. And that’s okay. It seems fair to me. I just want to be ready for it. I want to meet it like a gentleman."

Movie and television fanatics woke up bright and early (yes, that involves all of us here at Hollywood Crush!) this morning to hear who, and what, earned nominations for the 2011 Golden Globes. Luckily, the ceremony (which is often a barometer for who will step up to the podium for the Academy Awards) will be chock-full of HC favorites this year!

We're giving a big old "like" to the Hollywood Foreign Press for recognizing "The Social Network" as one of the best movies of the year (it's up for Best Motion Picture-Drama) and its deserving stars Jesse Eisenberg (Best Actor in a Motion Picture-Drama) and hot newcomer Andrew Garfield (Best Performance By An Actor In A Supporting Role in a Motion Picture.) Okay, it may have been wishful thinking to hope their co-stars Justin Timberlake and Armie Hammer (who should have doubled his chances playing the Winklevoss twins) would score noms too, but awards season has only just begun!

Allure magazine's January cover advertises something a little bit edgier than holiday hairstyles or a New Year's fashion spread: Emblazoned over a sultry image of everyone's favorite Gossip Girl are the words, "Leighton Meester Strips Down Past Her Headband."
And man, does she ever. A flip of the page reveals that her signature headband isn't the only article of clothing Leighton took off for her ultra-sexy photo shoot; actually, she's wearing a raincoat and underwear and not a whole lot else. But sitting at a bar in her skivvies is hardly the most bad-ass thing she's ever done—as she reveals in an interview about on-set rivalries, off-set stereotypes, and her party girl past.
First things first: Leighton wants you to know that the rumors of her rivalry with "Gossip Girl" co-star BlakeLively are complete and total bollocks—the sort of invented strife that seems to plague any girl-heavy production in Hollywood.
We certainly hope newly single Vanessa Hudgens isn't singing, "It's my party, and I'll cry if I want to," on this, her 22nd birthday. Sure, word came yesterday that she and "High School Musical" costar and boyfriend Zac Efron split after four years of dating. But let's just think of this as a fresh start for her new year of life. In fact, Vanessa has plenty to look forward to in 2011.
First up, is her long-awaited romantic drama "Beastly," a modern-day retelling of the classic "Beauty and the Beast" tale co-staring the always-dreamy Alex Pettyfer. We were impressed by the new trailer released recently, and we can hardly wait until the film finally comes to theaters March 18 (and that's only partially because of the promise of a shirtless Alex). Just a mere week later, Vanessa's second film of the year, "Sucker Punch," will hit the big screen in a big way. The gritty, kick-ass role is a bit of a departure for the usually sweet-as-pie Vanessa, but this Zack Snyder-directed flick looks like one trippy, crazy ride we don't want to miss. And finally, there's "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island," an action-adventure movie Vanessa is currently filming on Hawaii. The movie costars Dwayne Johnson and Josh Hutcherson and opens in September.

Happy 21st birthday, Taylor Swift! While we're sure the Grammy-winning singer (pictured) is spending her day with her adorable beau Jake Gyllenhaal, she was getting plenty of love around the Twitterverse. Katy Perry told her fellow pop star, "@taylorswift13 happy 21st gorgeous!" and pal Selena Gomez had a wish for her, too, as she posted, "Happy birthday @taylorswift13 !!!!!!!! I love you so much!!"
Taylor isn't the only one with something to celebrate this season, though. Actress Kristen Bell will get to spend time with her boyfriend, Dax Shepard, over the holidays, and it can't get here a day too soon! Dax posted to his lady over the weekend, "I'll sing the "Birdsong" WHILE making tiki marsala if you just get your a** home already!" and Kristen sweetly responded to her man today, "1 u don't have 2 do a thing 2 convince me 2 come home-I'm countin the days! Wonder if ur as cute as I remember...prbly moreso :)"
