It's not going to be easy to get through the next few weeks without new episodes of "The Vampire Diaries" (which returns on Jan 27th), but The CW is helping ease our lonely hearts with a week-long marathon of the past 10 episodes starting tonight.
Of course, as tradition has it, we can't submerge ourselves into a week of "TVD" repeats without taking a look back at some of our favorite Damon (Ian Somerhalder) quotes (because let's face it, he's got the wittiest mouth out of all of 'em) and giving our fave writers (we're lookin' at you, Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec) some seriously deserved credit. Now, last season's list was full of witty quips and cunning one-liners, but this time around our favorite bad boy's been showing a little more emotion, so we couldn't resist highlighting some of his more heartfelt moments, as well. Check out our top 10 favorite Damon quotes after the jump!

It's been a year of surprising celebrity splits (hello, Courteney Cox and David Arquette!), but this latest breakup might be the most jaw-dropping of 2010: E! Online is reporting that long-time couple Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens have parted ways!
"They were together for so long. It just ran its course," a source told E! Indeed, the two, who met on the set of "High School Musical," have been dating since 2006. The couple have been famously tight-lipped about their relationship, however, in the August issue of Details magazine, Zac insisted their romance was "real," denying claims it was a showmance orchestrated by Disney.
Despite his affection for Vanessa, Zac has always been clear that if he ever did get married, that day was a long time coming. "I'm definitely not getting married," Zac told GQ in 2009. "In this business, you're either getting married or they want you to be pregnant. I'm not getting married until I'm 40. If ever. The thought never crossed my mind."

Taylor Swift loves to sing about heartbreak, longing and loneliness—but right now, the only thing dripping on her guitar should be champagne. The country starlet celebrates her 21st birthday today, closing the door on her underage status and celebrating a year that's been professionally and personally rewarding across the board.
Taylor tweeted last night that she and her pals were celebrating with a candle-adorned midnight pizza, and she's got no shortage of friends, family and admiring fans to wish her many happy returns. But when it comes to picking out her presents, they could probably use a few inspired ideas... which is why we're proud to present Taylor Swift's Ultimate Birthday Wishlist (Completely Fabricated By Someone Who Does Not Actually Know Her, But Whatever). Which five gifts would make Taylor's 21st her happiest birthday ever? How about...

Talk about taking a bite out of the bestseller list: After just six months in bookstores, sales of Stephenie Meyer's novella, "The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner," have raised $1.5 million for the American Red Cross. You may recall, Stephenie and her publisher Little, Brown pledged a dollar from each book's sales to the agency's International Response Fund (which, among other causes, supported Haiti relief efforts earlier this year).
"I'm so grateful that Little, Brown, the American Red Cross, and my fans made this generous gift possible," Stephenie said in a statement. "It’s amazing to have the opportunity to help those so greatly in need."
A check was presented to American Red Cross representatives today, and they couldn't have been more thrilled with the results of the partnership. "The generous contribution of Little, Brown to the IRF is essential to the ability of the American Red Cross to provide help and hope for people during their darkest hours," said David Meltzer of the American Red Cross. "This kind of donation helps us provide a depth and breadth of services which is hard to match."
Looks like Mr. Schue might be getting sick again, because Holly Holliday is coming back! "Country Strong" star Gwyneth Paltrow confirmed to Access Hollywood that she would be headed back to the "Glee" set sometime soon to reprise her role as McKinley High's favorite sub. Guess no one was ready to forget her !
There's no word on when exactly the episode will be taped, but hopefully Gwyneth and Ryan Murphy won't make us wait too long because "The Substitute" was one of our favorite episodes this season! With all of these music-centric roles, who knows where Gwyneth will take her career from here. Solo album? Performance at the Oscars (You so know "Country Strong" will get at least one nod for Best Song!)? Tour with Coldplay hubby Chris Martin?

If there were an international award for "Most Expertly Evasive Interviewee," it would go to Ryan Gosling. And if you don't believe us, just watch him as he dodges and weaves when questioned about his effect on women! In this interview with MTV's Josh Horowitz, Ryan was asked up-front to explain just how he became such a universal object of female desire—lusted after by women including us, Josh's wife, and all of his female friends.
But don't look for an answer; Ryan turns the question on its head in record time, replying, "Where are these friends of yours? You could be lying. You're not blinking, which makes me feel like you're lying."
Josh blinks in an attempt to prove his sincerity, but Ryan comes back again: "But now, because I told you, it means less. You cheapened it."
All right, enough. Answer the question, Gosling! Every woman in the world is obviously in love with you. As evidenced, Josh points out, by the fact that all human ladies are physically incapable of flipping past "The Notebook" without stopping to watch it.

It was a banner weekend for celebrity weddings! While Nicole Richie and Joel Madden were saying their "I do"s in L.A. alongside an elephant, "Better With You" star Joanna Garcia and her New York Yankees boyfriend Nick Swisher tied the knot in Palm Beach on Saturday.
The couple, who became engaged in May, walked down the aisle in front of some seriously A-list witnesses including Cameron Diaz, Alex Rodriguez, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Reba McEntire and Lance Bass. According to People, Joanna wore a strapless drop-waist ball gown and veil by Monique Lhuillier. So pretty!

Winter wedding alert! Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, couple extraordinaire and parents to two adorable kids, finally tied the knot this weekend—putting a state-approved seal on their four-year relationship, and also proving that Stinky Barry from my third grade class was not, in fact, correct in insisting that "first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage."
People reports that the couple wed at the Los Angeles estate of Nicole's dad, musician Lionel Richie, in an extravagant ceremony that was attended by 130 of their closest friends and family members. Also in attendance: an elephant! Which, between Nicole and Joel and Katy and Russell, seems to be the Next Big Thing in celebrity wedding trends. (Because nothing says "forever in love" like a basketball-sized turd on the altar.)

There was some scandalous Miley Cyrus news (in case you missed it, she was caught smoking out of a bong!) getting plenty of attention around the Twitterverse today. So much so that even her dad Billy Ray Cyrus addressed it from his page, "Sorry guys. I had no idea. Just saw this stuff for the first time myself. Im so sad. There is much beyond my control right now." But there were others who decided not to mention it at all, like Kelly Osbourne who announced that she had some big plans with Miley (both pictured here). She told followers, "can tell u the big news Im here in New Orleans shooting a movie with Miley Cyrus called 'so under cover'! I luv Miley we r having a blast."
While Miley fans wait to see what happens to the star, both on and off-screen, "The Chronicles of Narnia" fans don't have to wait any longer to see the latest installment in the series. "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" hits theaters today, and one of its stars, Simon Pegg, tweeted about his devotion to the flick. He wrote from his page, "I believe Voyage of the Dawn Treader is out today. Marvel at the amount of weight I lost to play that mouse."

There's no doubt that gray is totally in this season, and no where was that more evident than on this week's red carpets, as gorg brunettes Katy Perry and Liv Tyler stepped out in the subdued shade. Of course, wearing an "it" color doesn't automatically save you from a fashion mishap. Keep reading to find out which star set off fireworks with her beautiful gown, and which one neared a fashion flameout.

Now, this is the Katy we love. The newlywed dazzled at the red carpet premiere of "The Tempest" in L.A. in a one-shoulder, floor length Elie Saab gown. We thought the romantic look worked great for Katy and loved that she kept her hair down. Oh, and hubby Russell Brand didn't look half-bad either.
