As the first major awards show of the new year, we were expecting big things on the fashion front during last night's People's Choice Awards, which promised a "Hollywood chic" theme. Of course, most celebs didn't stick to the night's dress code, as the event showcased an eclectic mix of styles from trendy to simply lackluster, with pinks, purples and golds as the predominant colors. The awards show wasn't without its share of fashion highlights, courtesy of Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Kim Kardashian and Kristen Stewart (just to name a few). Newly single gal Taylor was all smiles on the blue carpet last night in a lovely, delicate pink frock by J. Mendel. Taylor paired the dress with a classic up-do and her signature red lipstick, as well as a pair of fabulous Prada heels. We thought the outfit looked très elegant. Taylor wasn't the only one pretty in pink. Selena joined her in a short, one-shoulder dress by Paule Ka, which she paired with dangling earrings and a black clutch. The only accessory missing? Boyfriend (yep, we said it!) Justin Bieber.
While Taylor and Selena went with lighter shades, Kim and Kristen were all about the dazzle. Kim attended the show, along with her sisters, wearing a strapless beige and black dress, which she paired with a gold choker-style necklace. We thought the form-fitting look was a great choice for the reality princess and loved her high bun. As for Kristen, well she was all about the shine rocking a sequined gold Reem Acra dress, which totally made her standout. Natalie Portman's got plenty on her plate lately (she's engaged, expecting and has a new movie hitting theaters!), but that didn't stop her from making it out last night. Natalie attended the event in a purplish-blue fringed dress, and while we would have loved to see her in something a little more form-fitting, we thought the colors were very flattering. Speaking of colors, Katy Perry was all about them in a whimsical, strapless purple dress. While the look might have been a fashion disaster on most, Katy managed to pull it off with pizazz—hot pink shoes and all!
