From short black dresses to surprising color choices and one stand-out mustache (we're lookin' at you Justin Bieber!), Friday night's Critics' Choice Movie Awards featured an interesting mix of styles and some brand new looks. Stars like Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, Emma Stone and Kim Kardashian glammed it up for the event, which celebrates the best of the best in film. Find out which gals (and guys) delivered great red-carpet looks, and which ones were practically unrecognizable (yes, there were a few!)!
When it comes to the battle of "Black Swan"s Natalie totally came out on top tonight. The mommy-to-be arrived in a flowy, one-shoulder ensemble (that delicately covered her bump) and opted to keep things simple by throwing her hair into a bun. The result was pure elegance. As for Mila, well she's usually a Crush fashion favorite, but we had mixed feelings about her CCMA choice. While we thought she looked très trendy in her short black piece by Nina Ricci, we also felt like it would have been better suited for a a glam night out on the town rather than an awards show. Also, we weren't feeling the strappy heels, although the necklace (not to mention hair and makeup) were fab!
Leave it to Kim to fire up the red carpet in a tight-fitted, mermaid gown by Vera Wang that totally flaunted her curves. The burnt-orange color of Kim's dress caught our attention early on, and we've got to give the girl points for bravery (it's not an easy color to pull off!). That being said, we much preferred the dramatic bottom of the dress to the less embellished upper-half. Speaking of eye-catching...Emma hit the red carpet sparkling in a silver Grecian-style dress with her hair pulled back in a messy bun. We thought the steel gray color really complimented her new blond locks and that she totally shined in the look.
Of course, it wasn't all about the ladies at the CCMAs, the fellas managed to cause quite a stir as well. Ryan Gosling was the essence of handsome in a perfectly fitted suit paired with a white shirt, but it was The Biebs who had the hottest look of the night in a thick mustache and wide glasses (we're only half-joking here!). Seriously though, Justin looked dapper in a black button down and maroon bow tie. As for the "disguise"? A little red carpet sense of humor is totally cool in our book.
