When it comes to the Golden Globes, we've come to expect nothing short of fabulous fashion, and this year's awards were no exception. From glamorous gowns to sparkling dresses, the carpet was flooded with breathtaking looks that impressed us from beginning to end. Most of the celebrities who stepped out for the event, including Natalie Portman and Lea Michele, opted for lighter colors such as pink, peach or nude. Others, like Mila Kunis and Angelina Jolie, dazzled in deeper hues. All of them, however, looked phenomenal. Check out our nine favorite ladies below.
Pretty in Pink
With so many celebs choosing pink for the big night, it was hard to decide who wore the color best (truthfully, most of them did), but the three that really stood out for us were Natalie, Scarlett Johansson and Lea. Nat, who earned our praise for her Critics' Choice attire earlier this weekend, was the epitome of elegance in a light pink gown with red flower detailing by Viktor & Rolf. We loved that the mommy-to-be accessorized her outfit with a red clutch and some serious bling (did you see that diamond necklace?!). As for ScarJo, her dress featured loose, long sleeves and evoked a sense of romanticism. Our only gripe with her look was the hair, which felt a little like an afterthought. Lea, on the other hand, was total perfection in a dramatic gown by Oscar de la Renta, which left us swooning.
Glorious in Green
While many starlets opted for delicate tones of white and pink, several ladies weren't afraid to go bold. Mila, Angelina and Catherine Zeta-Jones all wore variations of dark green at the Globes. Mila stepped out in a one-shoulder Vera Wang dress (with a somewhat open back) that flattered her perfectly, while Angelina was a sight to see in a floor-length, full-sleeved emerald dress. Not to be outdone, fellow brunette Catherine also delivered a notable look in a strapless green Monique Lhuillier dress with a full bottom, which she accentuated with a pair of covet-worthy diamond earrings.
Stunning in Sequins
No matter the color, starlets added extra oomph to their look with some serious sparkle. One of our favorites was undoubtedly "Glee"'s Amber Riley, who shined (literally!) in a one-shoulder silver gown with black belt-like detailing around the waist. We loved the look on Amber, and the fact that she kept it light on the accessories. "House" star Olivia Wilde certainly turned some heads in a strapless, two-toned gown by Marchesa, which felt both fun and flirty, while Anne Hathaway showed some serious back in a full-sleeved Armani that totally got our attention.
So there you have it, nine of the best looks from the Golden Globes red carpet. Now, it wasn't easy to narrow down this list and we definitely wish we could have made room for more fabulous ladies (Dianna Agron in J. Mendel and Megan Fox in Armani Prive, we're lookin' at you!), so head over to our full Golden Globes red carpet fashion flipbook to get a complete picture of all the amazing gowns from the night.
After you've had a chance to relish all the great styles, tell us which ones you loved the most!
