When there's an event with this many stars we love and awards being handed out to some of our favorite movies and television shows from the past year, it's hard to narrow down which parts we loved best. But, after some careful consideration, we've picked our favorite moments from the 2011 Golden Globe Awards. And the winners are...
"Glee" Goes For The Gold...Three Times!
They could have renamed the show the Gleek 'n Globe Awards after the big night the cast and crew of "Glee" had on Sunday. Jane Lynch finally won for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made For Television and gave a hilarious acceptance speech, natch, while her costar Chris Colfer walked away, deservedly so, with the Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made For Television. The always-humble Chris gave what was, without question, the most charming and sincere speech of the night, and we couldn't help but get a little choked up when he dedicated his award to all the bullied teens who watch the show. And just to add the icing to the already sweet "Glee" cake, the show won, for the second consecutive year, Best Television Series-Comedy or Musical!
Robert Pattinson, Justin Bieber and Zac Efron Look Dapper, Hand Out Awards
Three of our favorite men took the stage throughout the broadcast and they were all winners (so to speak). Robert Pattinson accompanied Olivia Wilde to present the Best Foreign Film award and while she may have been the one to sparkle, he certainly shined in a sharp tux. Earlier in the broadcast, Justin Bieber walked out with fellow presenter (and hot up-and-comer Haliee Steinfeld) to present the Best Animated Film award to one of our favorite flicks of last year, "Toy Story 3"! The film's director joked that Justin and Hailee weren't even born when the first film came out in 1995, but he was right, Hailee wasn't born until 1996! Finally, we couldn't help but be giddy to see newly single Zac Efron, sporting a short new 'do to present a clip from the flick "The Tourist."
Robert Downey Jr. Flirts With Emma Stone
Host Ricky Gervais may have been trying to go for the most laughs last night, but that honor actually went to presenter Robert Downey Jr. who took a moment to flirt with the lovely ladies nominated in the Best Actress in a Motion Picture- Comedy or Musical category. While we were sad that Emma Stone didn't nab a trophy for her terrific work in "Easy A," we couldn't help but crack up when she and RDJ made flirtatious glances and knowing head nods toward each other.
Natalie Portman Thanks Fiance Ben, "Black Swan" Co-Star Mila "Sweet Lips" Kunis
Looking pretty in pink, the glowing mom-to-be Natalie Portman won Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama for her daring turn as a ballerina battling her demons in "Black Swan." The star gave love to her fiance Benjamin Millepied and joked that while his character in the film may not have wanted to get busy with her, he definitely did in real life! Speaking of on-screen love, she also gave kudos to her co-star Mila Kunis, whom she nicknamed "Sweet Lips" in reference to their now infamous sex scene. Pretty soon, we think, she's going to be thanking a fellow named Oscar!
"The Social Network" Nabs Best Picture-Drama—LIKE!!
For a night that had plenty of letdowns (Ryan Gosling's loss for one) there were just as many deserved wins, including "The Social Network" picking up the night's most prestigious award, Best Motion Picture-Drama. While we were psyched to see one of our top flicks of 2010 emerge the big winner, we were happy just to have an excuse to see its hunky stars Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield and Armie Hammer all on the same stage.
