We've had a big, bad hankering for the March 11 release of "Red Riding Hood" ever since the teaser gave us a taste of the gothic, grisly awesomeness to come. But now that the full-length trailer has made its way onto the web, it's official: This movie has us hungry like the...well, you know.
The new trailer is longer, larger, and decidedly more action-packed than the more expository teaser. What's new and exciting about this two-minute preview? Here are our three favorite just-revealed moments:
1. The big, bad wolf!
Why yes, that is a computer-generated wolf tearing through the village, while extras in period garb run screaming for their lives (we know, it's blurry). This first look at the murderous hell hound will no doubt draw more comparisons to the "Twilight" films (even though director Catherine Hardwicke was long gone from the saga before the wolf pack showed up), but the promise of seeing some hapless doinks torn limb-from-limb has us panting for blood.
2. We've got grabbing!
The teaser gave us lots of lingering, artistic shots of Little Red's eponymous crimson hood billowing and blowing against the snowy background. But this time around, the hood (and several other articles of clothing) comes off. That's definitely a roll in the hay that we're seeing, and Shiloh Fernandez is definitely not wearing a shirt.
3. A straight-from-the-page moment!
Even though it's loosely based on the fairy tale "Little Red Riding Hood," it's a fair bet that this film will skip the whole "wolf wearing ladyclothes" part of the story. (When you're going for gothic horror, a flannel nightgown kinda kills the mood.) But some of the old-school dialogue seems to have made it intact; the last shot of the trailer has Amanda Seyfried whispering, "What big eyes you have!"
