In the upcoming film "The Roomate" (out February 4), Minka Kelly and Leighton Meester play eerily similar-looking bunkmates whose relationship turns "Single White Female" when Leighton very quickly becomes, shall we say, possessive. But at this week's red carpet premiere for the film, the two lovely leads couldn't have looked more different (not to mention friendly!) in their night and day frocks. We loved both looks so much that we just had to name the duo this week's Style Superstars. Keep reading for our take on the ladies' killer looks.
Now, we're used to seeing Leighton rock unconventional styles that don't always hit a red carpet home run, but she brought her A-game to the "Roommate" premiere in a floor-length black gown with cut-outs at the waist. The modern dress looked totally chic on L, and we liked that she chose to wear her hair sleek and straight. That being said, we're curious to see how this dress would look at knee-length—we have a feeling that would have taken the edginess factor to the next level. Regardless, this is a win for Leighton. Here's to seeing more fashion-forward looks from her!
While Leighton opted for a long, black dress, Minka went in the totally opposite direction (maybe so people would have an easier time telling the two girls apart?). She looked just as great, though, in a short, light beige long sleeve dress by J.Mendel paired with nude peep-toe pumps. Our favorite part of her look? The braid. It was an unexpectedly simple, classic and well, all-around, perfect choice of hairstyle to go with her outfit.
