Robert Pattinson who? Sure, it's hard to imagine anyone else in the role of our favorite sexy "Twilight" vamp, but looking at these steamy photos of almost-Edward Cullen Shiloh Fernandez, it's hard not to wonder what if. The 25-year-old "Skateland" star is featured in the upcoming issue of VMAN magazine on stands February 10, and he dished all about the "Twilight" role that got away.
"No one had any idea what 'Twilight' would become," Shiloh explained. "At the time, it was just another audition. I didn't realize I was missing out on stardom and giant paychecks." Yet, the actor is self-aware enough to admit that starring in one of the world's biggest phenomenons may not have suited him. "Now, looking back on it, I certainly wouldn't have been mentally stable enough to deal with all that," he said. "Lucky for me, not getting that part led to other work that was a much better fit for me."

It looks like the fashion world is hankering for some fresh faces! Yesterday, we told you that Kelly Osbourne was replacing "Gossip Girl" star Taylor Momsen as the celebrity spokeswoman for "Material Girl." Vanessa Hudgens is officially taking over duties as a "Candie's Girl," a title previously held by the likes of Fergie and Britney Spears (talk about big shoes to fill!).
"Ever since I saw Fergie do the ads for Candie's I fell in love," V dished in a promotional video released by the fashion brand. "It's such an honor to be a able to be a Candie's girl now."
"The Beastly" star will appear in a series of ads that will hit the pages of Seventeen, Teen Vogue and Cosmopolitan in March. As for what her Candie's debut will look like, well, let's just say you can expect to see Vanessa having some pillow fight fun and dancing on a diner counter (check out the picture after the jump for a sneak peek!).

Thanks to the ever-present drama of "The Twilight Saga," we'd sorta come to think of vampires as sensitive, tortured, hopeless romantics—rather than the undead, blood-sucking, squirrel-murdering night demons they truly are. But according to Elizabeth Reaser, who plays Cullen family matriarch Esme, Kristen Stewart's onscreen transformation from human to vampire in "Breaking Dawn" will not be some softhearted emo sobfest.
"There's been some really cool stuff in the Cullen house with Bella," she told MTV News when we caught up with her at the Sundance Film Festival. "There's been some interesting transformations happening."
And by interesting, she means...

Judd Nelson knows a thing or two about teen actors. As a Brat Packer and one of the five leads in John Hughes' seminal high school flick "The Breakfast Club," Judd's worked with his fair share of young stars, but it's one of Hollywood's current teen stars that Judd couldn't say enough nice things about when we caught up with him at the Sundance Film Festival where he was promoting Canon's "The Story Beyond the Still," which he co-directed.
"I certainly think that Dakota Fanning may be the best actor ever, on the planet, throughout history," Judd said. "I don't know, either she's a pituitary mutant, or maybe she's an alien."

"Hellcats" was back last night after an almost two-month hiatus and yes, we were stoked. When we last left off, the team was on the bus to sectionals. Savannah's heart was broken, Marti was the pariah of the team and her relationship with Lewis was unsalvageable. I mean, Marti DID hook up with Dan, she tried to cover it up and didn't put forth the best attempt at an apology.
Last night's episode picked up as the team arrives at sectionals. Marti can't find one person on the team who will talk to her. Not only is she friendless, but her luggage breaks, spilling her clothes all over the ground. Lewis takes pity and helps her, but makes it clear any communication between them is strictly professional. Marti takes what she can get and proceeds to sectionals practice. Beggars can't be choosers, right?
Alice's dad, Michael (Mario Van Peebles), unexpectedly shows up with is fiance, Kelly. Turns out, Alice never told her dad that she and Lewis broke up or that she is an alternate flyer. Apparently, Alice comes from a family that favors the accomplishments of her football-playing brother. Admitting she was an alternate and telling her dad that she and Lewis were broken up would tarnish the perfect image her father has of her. Now we know why Alice is so needy and desperate for attention and glory…she has daddy issues.

With all the excitement surrounding the 2011 Academy Award Nominations this morning, as well as nominee reactions, exclamations of joy, disbelief, etc. who would have thought that we would have some official "Hunger Games" news break today? We didn't.
But lo and behold! Lionsgate has announced the official release date for the highly anticipated film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, who landed the scoop, "The Hunger Games" will descend upon theaters on March 23, 2012.
The Reporter noted that Lionsgate hopes to capitalize on the Easter holiday weekend (Easter falls on April 8, 2012) and the fact that the end of March coincides with a lot of school spring breaks. So far, the big screen adaptation of Suzanne Collins' beloved book is the only film slated to open that weekend, but we can expect others to pile on.

The nominations for the 2011 Oscars weren't just the talk of Tinseltown today, but the Twitterverse as well! Hollywood hopped on their pages to post about which movies, actors, actresses, writers and directors they were happy to see get some love from the Academy. Naturally, there was just as much chatter about who should have been nominated, especially for "Inception" director Christopher Nolan who was inexplicably snubbed for his mind-bender. An outraged Felicia Day pondered, "Chris Nolan didn't get a director nomination?!! ARE YOU KIDDING?!" while Alyssa Milano mused about the director of the Best Picture nominee (a scene with stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, pictured) "Regarding Chris Nolan - I'm not sure how you can acknowledge the screenplay and film and not the director." However, Jaime King was a little less gentle with her wording, "Where the f*ck is Christopher Nolan's Oscar nom?!"
While some celebs couldn't wake from the "Inception" nightmare, others were simply elated for Hailee Steinfeld's dream come true. The breakout star will compete in the Best Supporting Actress category for her stellar performance in "True Grit," much to the delight of fellow famous youngster Justin Bieber. After hearing the awesome news, the singer wrote, "met at the Globes and she is super talented. CONGRATS to Hailee Steinfeld for being 14 and getting nominated for an OSCAR for TRUE GRIT!"

It looks like Madonna's Material Girl is ready for a new face.
Kelly Osbourne will replace Taylor Momsen as the new spokeswoman for the clothing line helmed by Madge and her daughter Lourdes Ciccone Leon, the Material Girl Collection blog announced on Monday.
"Material Girl is thrilled to confirm that Kelly Osbourne is the new face for 2011! We will be sharing all the details on this exciting new campaign in the upcoming weeks," a rep told Us Weekly.
The announcement shouldn't come as a huge surprise for readers of Lourdes' MG blog, where she recently posted that the brand was "desperately seeking" the next face.

We should probably rename this blog Hollywood Crushes On Kristen Stewart's Cooking because we can't seem to let one of the 20-year-old's co-stars escape our interviewing clutches without quizzing them over Kristen's delicious dishes. The latest lucky cast member to satisfy our cravings? "Twilight" actress Elizabeth Reaser (a.k.a. Esme Cullen).
As you're probably aware, Kristen's tortilla soup has become the stuff of culinary legend around Hollywood back lots. Not only has her signature dish received accolades from "On the Road" costar Garrett Hedlund, but the infamous recipe even made its way into the pages of Vogue magazine! (Bon appetit, indeed!) Unfortunately for Elizabeth, though, the actress has yet to try Kristen's soup.
"You know what. I've never been offered her tortilla soup, so I'm offended," Elizabeth jokingly told MTV News' Josh Horowitz while at the Sundance Film Festival.

Summit Entertainment has earned a reputation for larger-than-life YA novel adaptations thanks to their "Twilight Saga" franchise, and now the studio has its sights set on another beloved teen read.
If you were born after 1986 (or are just a red-blooded YA buff like the rest of us), you've likely read Stephen Chbosky's 1999 coming-of-age novel "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" (published by MTV Books, incidentally). The film adaptation has been in the works for a while now, and the fact that Emma Watson (in her first leading non-"Harry Potter" role) and Logan Lerman are starring in it is only the icing on the cake.
Up until now, however, "Perks" has not had a studio financier, but according to Vulture, Summit is in talks to pick up the film and start shooting in June. Click on after the jump to see all the reasons why we think this is great news.
