Kristen Stewart might not be the lady love of Superman, but according to The Hollywood Reporter she will likely be the fairest of them all.
As we told you earlier, Universal really, really, really wanted Kristen for the role in "Snow White and the Huntsman," and they kept coming back to her name when their shortlists of actresses were released. THR said the deal is still not finalized and still has a possibility to fall apart, but both sides want it to happen and we have a feeling Universal will bend over backwards for her if need be.
This will be Kristen's first post-"Twilight" role, and like the rest of the "Twilight" cast she's going big. Robert Pattinson is starring in David Cronenberg's latest, "Cosmopolis," while Taylor Lautner is staying in the young adult genre with the upcoming adaptation of "Incarceron."
It will be nice to see Kristen play a more assertive female character. Like Bella Swan, Snow White will transform from a weak little maid that the hunter named Eric (being played by Viggo Mortensen) is supposed to kill under orders from the evil queen Ravenna (Charlize Theron). Eric, however, chooses to train Snow so that she can kill Ravenna, and some intense levels of butt-kicking ensue.
Though different actors have been connected with both Eric (Tom Hardy, Johnny Depp, Michael Fassbender) and Ravenna (Angelina Jolie), this is the first time Universal has cast itself a Snow White. In our opinion, that means this show is likely to get on the road once Kristen finishes filming "Breaking Dawn." But first they have to cast Snow White's prince and the seven dwarves!
Are you glad that Kristen Stewart was offered the role in "Snow White and the Huntsman"?
