Live from New York...it's Miley Cyrus! That's right, Crushers, it was announced this morning that Miley will be hosting the March 5 episode of "Saturday Night Live." Since Miley won't be serving double duty as host and musical guest (no word on who will be providing the tunes that evening) we had some ideas for how she could show off her comedic chops. Here's what we'd love to see Miley do for her first time hosting "SNL":
"The Miley Cyrus Show" is, like, pretty cool!:
You have to hand it to "SNL" cast member Vanessa Bayer for her imitation of Miley during the skit "The Miley Cyrus Show." Vanessa all but has Miley's voice and mannerisms down to a science, plus she's coined one of the best "SNL" catch phrases in a long time, "It's pretty cool!" How hilarious would it be if Miley, in true good sport fashion, came on as a guest to "The Miley Cyrus Show"?! Bonus points if her dad Billy Ray Cyrus also comes by to come face-to-face with his "SNL" impersonator Jason Sudeikis! That would be, say it with me now, pretty cool!
Viva la "Hannah Montana"! :
Miley may have retired her Hannah Montana character, but it doesn't mean she can't revisit her blond-haired pop star alter ego for a skit. We've got to imagine the "SNL" writers can come up with some pretty clever scenarios for Hannah.
Get digital with Andy Samberg:
The digital shorts are always bizarrely hilarious (case in point, Emma Stone's clumsy clip from last year), but they go to a different level whenever Andy Samberg is involved. From his inappropriate, but hilarious, Lonely Island songs to those unforgettable Justin Timberlake appearances, the Samberg digital shorts always tend to go viral the quickest.
Address the controversies:
Miley is certainly no stranger to scrutiny. Still, if there's any venue to show you're moving up and on from some setbacks (and that you have a sense of humor about yourself), it's "SNL." Wouldn't it be great to see her address that recent salvia situation or her pole dancing/"Party in the USA" controversy in the opening monologue in a smart, self-deprecating way?
"Gilly?!?"
While we can't wait to see Miley appear in some original skits, we'd love to see her go toe-to-toe with Kristen Wiig's curly haired troublemaker. Some former "SNL" hosts to play one of Gilly's long-suffering classmates include Zac Efron and Rosario Dawson, so she'd be in good company.
