It's Fashion Week here in New York, and all week long we will be giving you a VIP pass to the fashion event of the year. We will be going backstage to talk to some of the biggest fashion designers, showing you all hottest trends and giving you a front row seat to all the A-list shows.
One of the first shows we hit up at Lincoln Center was the Academy of Art University Show. This is where seven young graduates of the University each competed with thousands of other students to get the opportunity of a lifetime—to show at Fashion Week. After a year long process, they hit the stage for the first time.
Even though many of the designers used similar colors—greens, blacks and cream—they each had their own distinct flare, giving us a fresh look at some of the trends to come. It's hard to pick a favorite because I can definitely see girls wearing a piece from each collection—so that’s a good sign!
Overall, it was a great show and a fun, different way to kick off Fashion Week!! Stay tuned tomorrow because we are headed to the Charlotte Ronson show—and you definitely don’t want to miss that!
What do you think about the young designers' looks?
