If you thought you knew what to expect from tonight's "Vampire Diaries" after watching the preview, then think again.
"The teaser doesn’t give any information," Candice Accola told Hollywood Crush yesterday when we jumped on the phone with the actress. "So whatever you see on the teaser, that is just like the smallest amount of information that they could give you."
Of course, this prompted us to wonder what we could expect. After all, we've heard rumors about deaths, twists, a little Matt-Caroline romance and a performance (unexpected right?!), and while Candice didn't want to divulge too many spoilers about the episode (the last one before the show goes on hiatus until April 7), we were determined to get the dish.
"So much happens in the episode that comes up for every single storyline," she said. "Some people might not even survive it."
Yikes! As it usually is with "Vampire Diaries," where there is death, there is action, and Candice told us there will be tons tonight.
"Well, most importantly within the episode, I’ll just say, a lot of action goes down. It’s a very active, active episode."
But it won't be all about the drama. Fans can also look forward to seeing some lighthearted moments, as Caroline takes the stage for a Mystic Falls-worthy performance (in other words, multi-talented Candice gets to show off her singing chops, and we, for one, can't wait!).
"I think that all the episodes have been so wonderfully heavy and meaty, I think that they are bringing back just elements of fun again," said Candice, who shared that she originally moved to Los Angeles to become a singer and that she was totally excited when she learned the writers wanted to incorporate her skill into the episode. "That’s kind of what the moment is about. It’s just fun and you know, it’s youthful and it’s just Caroline just being silly Caroline from season one again."
Is the performance Caroline's way of wooing back Matt? Candice wouldn't spill, but she did say that with Tyler out of the picture, she and her on-again-off-again boyfriend finally have a chance to reconnect.
"The biggest thing that has been blocking any opportunity for Matt and Caroline to have any kind of discussion on a reconciliation has been Tyler," she said. "I think this has opened up a great opportunity because Tyler has been a lot of the drama that has been going on in Caroline’s world lately, and with him gone, she can get back to focusing on in herself. So for Caroline’s story line in this upcoming episode, that’s what it really comes down to."
Speaking of Tyler, we asked Candice if Caroline will acknowledge that he skipped town. The answer may not exactly please Caroline-Tyler shippers.
"Caroline’s not necessarily upset about the fact that Tyler’s left. I mean, he was willing to let her go. She sacrificed, she was willing to put her life on the line for him, and he did not reciprocate. You know, she has his back and he didn’t have hers," she told us.
But that's not to say fans of that relationship should give up. Candice also weighed in on where she stands on the Matt-Caroline-Tyler triangle, as well as another popular threesome on the show (ahem, Stefan-Elena-Damon). Stay tuned for that post on Hollywood Crush!
